Ah, forgot about those. Yeah, they're nice, don't even need an extra tile. Some other station GRFs should consider *wink wink* ^^

Why not? Alright, true, I'm currently playing a Japanese save, and I probably won't cluster my already full object-menu with even more objects that don't actually fit just for parking lots, but they'd definitely be "right" for a NA game. Would look better with some cars admittedly, if you don't mind me saying that ;)

Not at all, they're just previews after all. They definitely need some work to make them more interesting, cars included.

Someday :)

It does, but as I mentioned, the server is down. I just got an update from the server admin:

Hi,
i'm looking for alternative graphics for:
buoys, locks and tram / bus stops.

They are all defined through base set afaik. So my prolem is that i'm generally prefering original graphics over openttd graphics,
but when it comes to the mentioned ones i prefer the openttd graphics (or maybe there are others i don't know of).
So are there any seperate GRFs?

None for buoys or locks, but check out City Trams for some alternate graphics fro the tram stops.

Thanks kamnet, peetleouf for the input!

I'm searching for one more thing:
buffer stops / End of Rail-signs or the like as NewObjects (building them as stations adds clutter (stations sign))
or maybe even a railway laying machine?!

I can't think of any buffer stops as objects offhand. Maybe either with Dutch Stations, Australian Stations, or ISR/DWE Objects. I haven't seen any railway laying machines in any set, either.

An interesting suggestion, it is possible to mix up stations as well as objects in a single GRF, where the objects then will be found in the normal object-purchase menu offcourse.
I have already done this with one of the Dutch Station sets (providing a couple of floortiles as objects that can be placed on those nasty corners where stationtiles cant be built).
I will add some buffers as objects too then, do keep in mind though that those will be at the beginning of a tile (so that they are connected directly to the end of a track), as objects wont adapt to tracktypes and wont get catenary...

I will inform GarryG (the creator of the Auz-sets) about this too (in case he hasnt read this thread).

Not that I'm adverse to this (although I perhaps would prefer a separate GRF but maybe that's just me) but you can avoid sign clutter by simple joining stations? If the buffers are don't like in NewStations trains won't actually use the station, or at least I never saw that happening. And it solves the problems with track types and such.

Ofcourse, but then you really have to keep good track (no pun intended ;-) ) of what station has extra tiles somewhere else (not physically connected) and that trains dont accidently move towards that (for example maybe when the actual station is full with waiting trains).
Also I can imagine that you sometimes dont want to extend the station-catchment or just want some buffers somewhere in the middle of nowhere ;-)

Furthermore, most stationsets provide their own custom designed buffers, it is then not too unlogical that it is handy that you get the object provided by the same GRF.
It will show up in a different purchasemenu anyway, as it would when provided via a separate GRF, but will save a GRF-slot...

EDIT:
Done, will be in version 0.4 of Part-2 of the Dutch Station Addition Set, hope to release that on Bananas in the next 24 hours...

I also alerted GarryG about this, he reminded me that he already has an Object-GRF with station/railway related objects (how could I forget those....   )
He is busy with some other things at the moment, but will try to include buffers in that set eventually.
Maybe handy to also post your request in his thread:

That's a completely satisfying work-around!

As tycoonez.com still appears to be down does anyone have the CSRailset(?) file knocking around? I want to use the tunnels for my new game.
