EDIT: Is there any way to make spoilers or expandable stuff? Becouse I want to add images and stuff into one topic without making one superlarge...

So, I was just wondering what will happen if I'll let couple different AIs play together without me doing anything. If you want to know which AI is the best for you, check following results :D

Test I:


Tested AIs:
AdmiralAI (v25)
AIAI (v95) (Crashed during test, becouse of evil newgrf (console report))
AroAI (v127)
BorkAI (v22)
MailAI (v21)
Terron (v209)
Chopper (v10)

Game stats:
Starting year: 4414141 (don't judge me lol)
Ending year: 4414155 (At this point all AIs basicaly stopped doing new stuff)
NewGRFs: a lot of
All AIs at their default settings (except Chopper where I changed Aesthetic to Economic)

Final company prices:
AdmiralAI: €43,925,476
AIAI: €82,951,548
AroAI: €29,047,356
BorkAI: €2 (srsly)
MailAI: €1,853,208
Terron: €19,504
Chopper: €2,524,996

Final infrastructure:
AdmiralAI: 1,567 rail pieces; 5455 road pieces; 211 station tiles; 11 airports
AIAI: 244 rail pieces; 579 road pieces; 29 station tiles; 30 airports
AroAI: 4,536 road pieces; 72 station tiles
BorkAI: 67 road pieces; 22 station tiles; 32 airports
MailAI: 815 road pieces; 34 station tiles
Terron: 99 road pieces; 4 station tiles
Chopper: 27 airports

Final vehicles:
AdmiralAI: 6 trains; 738 RVs; 7 aircraft
AIAI: 1 train; 20 RVs; 96 aircraft
AroAI: 360 (noscope) RVs
BorkAI: 12 RVs
MailAI: 32 RVs
Terron: 1 RV
Chopper: 12 aircraft

Possible winners:
AdmiralAI was the best in building and newgrf compatibility. It was only AI that was able to build and manage trams!
AIAI made best profit, but that's pretty much all what it did (except crashing)

And that's about it. Hopefuly it tells you something about AIs. I don't know what, but soon you will find great use of this post (or not, whatever).

Test II:


Omg, I never expected that anyone will find this topic "interesting" :shock:
Anyway, I did another test, this time with 12 AIs (max) without any NewGRFs to prevent crashing (it didn't help). I also used AIs from previous test that had trouble with NewGRFs to give them another chance. Again, all AI settings default. I think that CPU AI crashed, but I can not tell now becouse after reloading save file, all AIs was working again...

Starting year: 10000
Ending year: 10020 (again, AIs stopped doing new stuff at this point...)
AIs tested: AdmiralAI; AIAI; AroAI; SynTrans; MailAI; Terron; RoadAI; CivilAI; CluelessPlus; Convoy; CPU; DictatorAI; OtviAI; PathZilla

What were your criteria for selecting candidates?
Will you run other tests with others and have "playoffs"?

You are taking it more serious than I was :D Anyway, to pick candidates I just watched some youtube vids to see what AI most people pick, then forum posts, and so on.
The main reason I did this was for poeple like me who just don't know what AI to pick if they want very challenging game, or just realistic gameplay.
And probably I'll do more tests. For me it is just interesting how AIs play without player :D

This is actually very interesting. However it would be nice, if the exact settings (NewGRF + 'normal' settings would be given), so that one could compare with later runs with other AIs or other versions thereof. Maybe you can share the initial game and the final games here - they might also be interesting to look at.

I just wish I understood the AI stuff. I'd love to try making a ruthless AI that stops at nothing (except of cheating, of course). See if I could make an impact on your top ratings!

OTVI and TrAIns AI tend to do better than others competing against me,I think.I also see a lot of building from Fast PTPAI and NiceCAB/NoCAB.
However,I don't have all the ones used here loaded.So it would be interesting to stack these up against those.
