You sailed 1 ship into a USR port, which as I recall, was a diplomatic ship. I fail to see how 1 ship carried 500k of men.....

Ok so heres you troop movement posts:
The 500,000 civilians are still in Arstotzka what was on the three ships was part of the standing army of Arstotzka which... I haven't decided how big it is yet but it is going to be less than 200,000 at the most.

So firstly, you only managed to sail 3 ships there. And my question to you is, where did these ships sail from? Through land?

Also everytime we questioned how troops were getting there you just didnt post. Im gonna need more than "Loads of time passed, we just made hundreds of thousands of trips with 3 ships that noone had a chance to sink because I didnt post that more troops arrived".

Your offer is most kind, but we are rather concerned by this dangerous technology. We will select an island on which these 'explosion engines' can be built without scaring or maiming any of the citizenry. :P
While we do make steamships, your designs seem to be more effective. Advisers would be useful.*

*Still condensing ones, IIRC. I don't think the FAK ever even put a Watt-style engine on a boat, let alone a proper high-pressure one!

After talks with the Aternian Empire, we have agreed to support their war against Arstotzka. The Bosphorus will be closed to Arstozkan shipping from next Monday.

FYI, what I call here "explosion engines" is internal combustion engines IRL...

Anyway, what year is it ? 1898 ?

In America:

General Tsau sits in a tent, a soldiers enters with documents. He explains to the general about the confederate movement to the capitol, and also about the "suggestion" of a SMALL Arstotzkan force.

General Tsau: Send word to the mainland, we require more men.

Officer: Sir with over half a million trained soldiers dont you think-

General Tsau: I require 200,000 more.

Meanwhile, In Aternia:

*A message arrives at The Chairman's desk, she reads it and looks up at her advisers*

Azula: Then he believes the Arstotzkan's are there?

Adviser: We believe so, most likely socialists propaganda (Or APDAF propaganda) but it is rumored to be a high amount of well trained men.

Azula: Are my men not well trained?

Adviser: We ensured only minimal number sent to America were new recruits, the majority are veterans. It makes it easier to train the men this way.

Azula: Then he believes the Arstotzkans will send re-enforcements? Or more likely they will retaliate...

Adviser: Sending more men could leave us dangerously short handed in Africa, and could stretch our naval forces.

Azula: Inform General Tsau that he will receive no men. Bring the ships from Alaska to Cuba (near Cuba, stop worrying pilot), ensure they sink any ship flying the socialist banner. Send more men to Africa, put the dockyards on high alert. Send word to the Nusantara's, inform them of the incoming socialists threat, and make sure they know that if Aternia waters fall prey to these socialists it is more likely they will head to Nusantara after, so defending while both nations are strong would be in both our nations interests. I want more men in Samkok, that nation has expanded and now leaves gaps that could be filled, ensure the nation is airtight from invasion. Remember, it only takes 1 weak link to break the chain.

(Ex) Chairman Khan finally passes on, after years battling a crippling illness. Bed bound for most of the later years of his life, his family, including Chairman Azula have stated to be happy he has "finally found peace". Chairman Khan leaves behind a military legacy of over several decades, he finally passes away at the age of 68.

The Military campaign in America has been put on hold for several days, while high ranking members of the army pay their respects. Chairman Azula stated that her fathers dead was "Emotional, expected, but a final relief", she has also serviced a monument to be placed in Atern Square, located near the statue of the Late Emperor Hun.

In Economic news, Chairman Azula has stated a strong interest in the Nusantaran explosion engine, stating she is "willing to negotiate a like for like trade of technologies, including medicines and the telephone technology."

Aternia government officals have written a "strongly worded" message to the Arstotzkans, requesting them to pull out of America, or face Aternian Action.

Added 3 pixels to the width of the left countries list row, resized Arstotska's list, and added two new country slots. Maybe it'll make the game more appealing.

Sorry for my inactivity, if you want to know why then my avatar might answer it...

Nusantara Starts To Build The Firsts Public Generator

After planning phase, we have commenced the construction of 4 public electricity generators at Borneo, Java, Sumatra, and Malacca region. The generators are to be placed six month from now, and full operation is expected on the next year. These generators are powered by steam engines, explosion engines, and watermills. It'll power the new intra-island beep codes system, and also the newly proposed national electric grid, which will allow industries and houses to use electricity for lighting and other yet undiscovered uses of this power. The price of electricity per month for a single house is 3 dinars, and for a single industry is 19 dinars. We hope that these new commencement of technologies will help Nusantara to become the leader in the world for technological advancement.

Nusantara Claims All Area Between Papua's "Bird Head" and The Old Areas

After years of contacting local tribes, exploring the jungles, recovering from sickness, and negotiating with local tribes, Nusantara has declared that the (mentioned above) area will become an area of Nusantara. We hope that this will strengthen Nusantara's position in the local area, and we hope that we can develop these undeveloped areas to it's full potential.

Nusantaran Ports Considers To Ban Arstotzkan Ships; Rumors From Far East Mentioned Them As "Warmongers"

After a letter from the leader of Aternia arrived at most port within the Malacca Strait, also from the reports of intels in the deep far east, people has started to think that Arstotzka is actually a bad nation. When asked about this, the local government don't say a word; They said that it might worth it to wait for a few months, rather than acting too cautiously and creating new enemies, also blocking the chance to be friends. Otherwise, increased patrol have been reported on the outermost ports and islands of Nusantara.

We are happy to hear this. We have long wondered about electrics, and we haven't really know about anything that can be caused by electricity to things (other than it make things hot, make things move, or make things burn). We would be pleased to hear more words from you.

In America:

Scout: The socialists move south, towards the USR capital, a Message from the Confederates state they have claimed the city.

General Tsau: Unlikely, that City will be well guarded. Perhaps they were lucky enough to capture the city while it was unmanned, but that leaves a problem.

Officer: A problem General Tsau?

Tsau: With the USR troops outside of the city and the confederates inside, the battle plan has been undone. If the socialists had held the city they would have drawn their men back to defend it, putting all the eggs in 1 basket. With the Confederates holding the city, the USR and the other socialists can now surround it as we would have done, putting a heavy strain on the Confederates, possibly cutting them off from us.

Officer: What do you propose?

Tsau: We must move South much faster, the withdrawal of troops from this area will make capturing the towns easy. There are no military bases along this stretch of land, we should be able to move quickly down the area, especially with the trains. Inform The chairman that the battle may take a sudden turn, we will need more ships in Cuba to protect the newly acquired capitol city from a sea attack, we wont land any men until my army has arrived from the east.

Officer: Yes sir.

---------------------------------

Aternian troops have moved south with a quick pace, due to a massive withdrawal of USR troops. USR troops have been spotted heading towards the capitol in order to either retake it, or defend it. Though small skirmishes along the way, the sheer volume/training of Aternia troops have secured their victory in battle. Using the captured USR train lines, Aternia troops have been able to move quicker.

Along the route troops have liberated former USR mines (Some of which were looted, in order to pay for the war effort), putting the control back into the hands of the Confederates. Several large scale USR shipments of weapons, food, and gold have gone missing, it is presumed that they have either been taken by disloyal/rouge USR soldiers, or taken overseas to bribe Socialists loyal country's (We took them...) .

Chairman Azula has posted more ships into the Cuba sea, which have already engaged attacks with several USR supply boats. Aternia has taken control of Bermuda, where a military naval outpost is been constructed. It is believed Aternia will conduct its naval activities from there once completed.

Samkok Land Surveyers Rectified Border with Annam

Not much is said, but two trade posts with Annam are established in Lao Cai (Old Street) and Mong Cai (Mango Street). The Southwestern border is also rectified between Samkok and Annam.

Tibetians Escorted to Wuchang, Brahmaputra Ports Established

The Tibetian have arrived at Wuchang, half of them awaiting entry to @Aternia while the other half head south to Canton.

Meanwhile, Bengals asserted authority on behalf of Samkok along the Brahmaputra. One settlement serves as trading post with Tibetians, while the other trades with the state of Bhutan in the north.

Islands of Yi and Hainan fully surveyed

As shown in the newest map. 'Nuff said.

Former King Siu Turns 100

And rumours suggest that he's Pursuing Immortality. The Court has denied such a claim but sources suggest the former king is slowly reducing the need of food. Of courses, bodies work slower on this age...

Perhaps when no one posts in a day, we freeze time? To avoid jumping 20 years when people want to get active?

In game:

General Tsau grows weary of war, the socialists dont seem to understand their days are numbered. With each small Socialist village they pass, people throw items, or refuse to give food, General Tsau gets tired of this. Eventually, General Tsau has enough, the next village they walk into will be different.

The Aternia army marches into a small village nearby, which is flying the socialist flag, he decrees that they no longer follow socialisium, they have been returned. The people grow angry, they dont want this "change". General Tsau simply turns to them and says:

"You dont want change? That is fine. Bring the messenger who delivers the letters to the other socialist strongholds and tell him to make note:

"From this day on, any Town of Village to be holding soclaists ties will be given the option to change. Those that do will be welcomed, those that do not, will suffer the same fate as *Village name*""

The towns folk begin to look at 1 another, General Tsau simply turns to his men and says:

"Kill every man over 15, and every woman over 30. Leave only the young and the messenger."

The soldiers look with stern faces, turn towards the people gathered, and begin to carry out their orders.....

My last post referred to 1900,
so it's somewhere between 1901 and 1903,
depending on whether LNM's newest proposition is agreed by most.

======

Settlements of Samkok (excluding the autonomous Four Rivers and Bengal) Establish "Policy Discussion Groups"
Local Administration Decided by the People, while Court and Aternian Soldiers Maintain Order

In the Samkok Court, ministers and officials are increasingly debating government matters in two groups. While this is not news in Chinese history, it never gets pretty. In fact, some dynasties fell "because" of it. To say King Yau feeling "frustrated" might be an understatement.

Today, King Yau called the head of the two "parties", Hong Yau-wai (whose given name would be mentioned instead of surname, to avoid confusion with another, earlier Hong) and Suen Man, for a talk.

King Yau opened the discussion before any of the two party heads could even come up with a word. "I need both of you to express your opinion on how to run this country. While one is talking, do NOT reference the other's views, and the other is NOT going to comment. In addition, I have brought the chronicler here to record everything you have said. I promise you that neither of you will be disadvantaged by expressing your opinion."

After the two politicians had finished their lectures, and have everything recorded, King Yau just asked, "now, what do you think if we simply lay it out to the people, let them decide which of whom is better, and receive the same treatment that I had just offered you?"

None of them could place a word. They knew the King was going to let the public engage in the daily operation of the Kingdom. Not that they thought it's bad -- Samkok had always been benevolent, not like the Chinese dynasties before it. However, a move like this was almost opposite to what had been practiced in China for 2000 years -- a.k.a. either you accept it or you revolt against it. Understandably, the duo found it risky.

The King laughed. "At least neither of you were talking about asking for more independence from Aternia. And if any people dared to harm anyone else just by discussing matters, the Aternian folks would easily dispatch them. Let's just see what happens."

------

In one month time, notices were posted in almost every settlement of Samkok.

Aside from publicizing the views of Yau-wai and Suen, the people are asked to stand on either side, or even welcome to form a group to agree with neither of them.

Then, every settlement held an election of "policy discussion groups", consisting of people who had come out.

For cities, it's easy to form groups of hundreds, while in remote villages groups of just 10 to 20 were common.

Any administration higher than settlement level were still bestowed upon from the Court, and the state military -- together with resident Aternian forces -- still maintains order, but the settlements were allowed to have free discussions on internal matters.

The King knew some people might be dissatisfied with their situation and come out to protest whoever they thought guilty. An additional edict was given which allowed demonstrations on the premise that no harm would be caused. Any life or property damage would be punished as stated by the current law.

------

Oh, one thing forgotten: Anywhere west of Dali was administered by Shi and his aide Cai, and as the place was already very autonomous, the edict explictly excluded the area. Nevertheless, the King sent another honoured minister, Leung Kai-chiu, to convey the message to Shi (who had celebrated his 70th birthday not long ago) and Cai.

Resurrection is clearly a thing ; but I guess we need to restart as well...

Just an idea, what about having some maps on another site (uh, not Earth) ?

Well, as long as there's also a map (second to our blanks) that details the elevation, anything is good. Even some random - generated heightmaps would do.

I'm OK with a restart but I have the same problem for which I've kind of quitted: can't always make time. So as long as you can live with this, then I'm in.
