I guess I'll join.

How about that co-op game you suggested? I'm thinking about making made-up planes based on real ones so it isn't so annoying documenting every realplane? Or should we use the old format?

Let's get this started, eh? Time is stuck on 2012, so planes can just be looked up.
ANGLO-IRISH AIRLINES STARTS OPERATIONS!
Anglo-Irish Airlines has started operations with 14 Airbus A320s operating from bases in London and Dublin. A flight is run between the two cities, along with flights from both cities to Manchester, Paris and Glasgow. Plans are afoot to expand into Europe and across the Atlantic.

Are we doing independent or co-op?

A casualty of the shrinking inclusive tour market and global recession, Sol Holidays has become a dinosaur in the marketplace, with losses mounting a new direction is needed for the survival of the Gatwick based tour company, and its in house airline, AeroSol.

The reliance on "old school" resorts from the company's inauguration in the late 1960s, the airlines reputation for carrying lager louts to Marbella has marred its image and devalued the brand. An entire overhaul is necessary for recovery. In order to achieve this, a slew of changes is to occur, including:
-Entering new holiday markets in Short and Longhaul.
-Updating cabin interiors, including lowering seating density in economy and possibly introducing a higher service level on some routes to stimulate higher yielding tourists.
-Trial starting operating at a smaller airport with less low cost competition
-Entering code share/interlining/block seat purchase agreements with other airlines via the tour company to help stimulate new business in other parts of the world.

-Excess A300 capacity has been utilised via applying for Extended Twin-engined overwater Operations. As part of the certification process, a weekly flight from Gatwick to Calgary (YYC) via Gander (YXQ) aimed at winter sports enthusiasts has been added to the last minute holiday portfolio, along with Geneva and Innsbruck both 11 weekly (one flight Tue/Wed/Thur, and two flights Fri-Mon).

Anglo-Irish Airlines has expanded! The A320s on the routes to Glasgow and Manchester have been replaced with Embraer 195s configured to carry 122 passengers. Despite the loss in capacity over the 180-seat A320, profits have remained the same. Four of the displaced A320s have been used to beef up routes from London to Dublin and Paris, while the other four have been used to start a new route from London to Frankfurt. The company has bought two Airbus A330-200s to fly from London to New York

New Start-up in Manchester.
The Owners of Manchester Airport, the Manchester Airport Group, have started Airline Services from Manchester to Various Holiday Destinations. This new Airline is named Mancunian Airways.

Aerosol has today began its overhaul program on passenger facing areas of the company. The first of the changes is the name change from AeroSol to Solair to try and refresh the company's tired image. Along with this, a raft of other changes have been made. The first is the reduction of seat numbers on our aircraft and the introduction of Premier Class cabins in the 757 and A300 fleet which operate the longer routes within the route network. Sol Tours in combination with this change has changed their holiday property portfolio to include more high end and boutique hotels in smaller resorts around our destinations to try to increase the yields in the markets and bolster the very low yielding IT customers. An overhaul of the Solair website has allowed for people to buy packages or flights directly online for the first time.

In the future, fleet replacement for some of our aircraft would be a priority in terms of reducing our very high fuel costs, however there is not enough money in the business and as can be seen by Thomas Cook, it is highly important not to run into cashflow issues, as this reduces consumer confidence and starts a death spiral. Based on positive results of new route trials, fleet expansion will be focussed on the second hand market.

The next priority for the airline is to open a new UK base to test the market for further expansion. Another long term goal is further intergration and cooperation with other airlines. Solair would like to enter some co-operative agreement with Mancunian Airways for block-buying seats on their services in order to operate tours out of Manchester and help test markets to see if they will work out of Gatwick.

There should be a rule that only one company can have a hub in a certain city? For example, since my hub is in New York, you can have routes to/from there, but you cannot have a hub there. Agree?

My map says JFK.
And only one airport in New York City itself has international flights - JFK.

Only Montreal and Toronto. Not really what I'd consider full-scale 'international' flights...

It's technically not in New York though. By these rules, I guess you can use it as a hub.

I guess since this game is independent, the next will be co-op, right? We never tried co-op.

And USA has expanded, with new routes to Beijing, Shanghai, and Tokyo via Los Angeles.
