How about 1959 ?

Anyone interested in the 152 ?

Flughansa buys 15 to increase capacity of inter-european flights.

However we sell our Comets, they have not performed as expected.

Sorry for the double post, guys.
MANUFACTURER NEWS
Boeing has launched the 707-120, an airliner promised to kick the behinds of the de Havilland Comet and the Junkers/Baade 152. Capable of carrying 110 passengers in a two-class set-up or 179 in a one-class setup, the 707 can fly 5,400 miles without needing to refuel. With a top speed of 620 mph, the 707 promises to revolutionize air travel.

Cathay Pacific has bought 16 707s to replace DC-6s on routes to Singapore, both direct and via Bangkok, and to Sydney. Ten of the planes will be used for those routes. The remaining six 707s have been used to replace all of the airline's Comets. 707s now operate Cathay's flights to Tokyo, New Delhi and Mumbai.

EDIT: Sorry for the JPG file that has to be opened. Can't be bothered to change it right now.

NY Airlines asks for three to test on its routes (not bought, just prototypes. Leasing is also possible.) Since its current fleet is aging quickly, NYA will need to replace all of its aircraft soon. If all goes well, we will buy many 707s.

British Airways replace all Comets with 707's. Also the 4 BA Connies and 2 AA Connies on the LHR - JFK route have been replaced. This has drastically reduced times between the US and the UK to 7 hours.

FH finally separates itself from their old Ju 390s and replaces them with 707s
We will however keep the 152 operational on inter-european flights since the extended range of the boeing is not needed here.
The very long range routes will still be operated by Lockheed Starliners because of their greater range.

Cathay Pacific has bought eight more 707s for new flights to Australia. The planes will be used on flights to Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth, with each flight receiving two planes. This move means that 707s now outnumber DC-6s is Cathay's fleet. The CEO of the airline says that they will not replace the remaining DC-6s until a shorter-range plane is made. And no, we're not interested in the Junkers 152.

@SprungGeoduck27: A JPG is perfectly fine in that situation because it's a photograph. JPG is only bad if the image has solid lines, colours or text.

Convair have released the Convair 880:

Cathay Pacific has taken delivery of eight more Convair 880s. Two of the planes will be used to beef up the flight to Seoul in order to sock it to Korean Airways (no offence). The other six have been used to open new routes to Surabaya, Sapporo and Fukuoka. The CEO of the company says that the next decade or so will be one of great expansion, and that more new flights are on the way.

OT: The real reason for the decade of great expansion is because it's mid-term break for me! A whole week off school.
@A321Pilot Are you on mid-term break too?
