[OTTD] rbos86 is playing somewhat Dutch game, Again.

Post by rbos86 »

Hello, I'm rbos86.
I'm from the Netherlands and therefore playing somewhat Dutch map.

NewGRF -info: a lot of NewGRF, currently 2cc Trains from all over the world, VTOL for everyone, some different station -NewGRF's, eGRVTS, I can't really tell what's all in it. Also some very new.
This map I play alone, without competitors, on a 1024x1042 tiles map, fairly easy settings.

Here I unload goods only to transport those goods to different cities around it. It's an experiment:

Here I show you my HQ in a nearby city:

And, last but not least my savegame, to get a better look at my gameplay:

Thank you for reading,
rbos86.

Nothing in this area is like the original landscape anymore. This spagetti of railroads around the industry is highly efficient at good capacity:

My last savegame from that game, because of a newGRF -addon which I want to try:
FreeWorldMovers, 5 Aug 1970.sav
(1.92 MiB) Downloaded 137 times
Actually this doesn't matter that much. I show it the way I play my games: If I discover something new I usually start a new game.
That's what happens here.

Let's move to the next post, with new savegame:

Here we are.

And the newGRF I was talking about is the Dutch Station Addition set, released 31 July 2016 (today).
So, I started a new game with this, only because the developer decided that it was time for a release.

I want to build Utrecht CS eventually and upgrade the trainsystem I have running now:

I found it a bit harder to play than Dutch Trainset 2, which is awesome enough by the way, in the 2cc set engines cost considerably more, offering some work to think about. I like that in this game....

A quick update this time, I like this game. Reason why I show it already, is because of airports. With no luck at all, and a lot of city-engineering and maths will make mainports out of them. I began a good one near my HQ, brought goods there (other goods -unloading station has been cancelled and finally removed), passengers to two nearby cities with train and bus. Planes go to other two (remote) cities.
A screenshot of the beginning mainport also made.

The charming style of the beginning days is really gone now. The trains ride into cities where sex and horror are the new drugs.

I've noticed the Dutch NS HSA from the 2cc set is somewhat underpowered. It's maximum speed is incredible, but on my network it's never going to reach that speed. Lot of the journey it doesn't travel faster that an 160 km/h -train, noticing that acceleration is terrible.
I'm a bit disappointed now.
It might not be realistic, but hell, I need more power in a train. More acceleration! More speed! More power!

I'm going to reach 2050 (January 2051 in gameplay) and rest my case with this set for now. Dutch Trainset 2 is luring in the distance asking me to play games. But first I'm going to finish this one.
Last update is going to be the January 2051 -savegame... Stay positive in real life and don't drink and drive!

Like I said in my screenshot -thread: I already started a new game with Dutch Trainset 2.
It plays good old Fashioned. And here a savegame.

Last Update for now!

The reason is that the game has become somewhat boring now. I don't know how to build (my own interpretation of) Den Haag CS, it seems a bit strange so far.
The other reason for this last update is that the ones who studied my gameplay know my gameplay by now. I've got nothing new to show anymore.

Here's the game -update, the world has developed again:

If you got comments or questions about my gameplay, feel free to write that down below this post. I'm happy to answer.
Many Greetings,
rbos86.

I found new stuff I like. Why I update is because... I'm high right now. Had some weed and got a OpenTTD -kick, resulting in gameplay of 29 gameyears. Wanted to share some results.
Here is the savegame, by the way.

Hello,

Before you read further: This is not a scenario, just me playing the game (random generated map [1024x1024])!
What I'm trying to do is to share my enthousiasm for the game.

Amount of towns is normal, Sea-level is 20%, many lakes, flat terrain.
I'm trying a new game with the industries from the package FIRS2. The list of my NewGRFs in the game is as follows:
Active_NewGRF_list_RoelTriesFIRS2.JPG
Active_NewGRF_list_RoelTriesFIRS2.JPG (128.07 KiB) Viewed 812 times
I've started in 1900 and have some towns connected,
now I have enough cash for developing industries and therefore the map. I produced some food from fish, and try to connect it.
It's still in the beginning -phase.
Here's the savegame:

I've tried FIRS2, but I didn't get it good, so I quitted that game. For me, I love a good old fashioned game with my very own settings.

So, I started in 1875,
Use Dutch Trainset 2, regular industries and I decided to focus on development of the cities. I love that work.
First, It's really fun to start in the early days. To my suprise it plays still very good, using the early TTRS, Swedish houses -NewGRF. Later the 1001 building set will start to work, but not yet. The game is currently in the year 1912, and I still didn't build my industry, except for some regular coal. Just to get things going. I made a lot of connections from city to city, also innercity -connections using horse -carriages.

Let's go to that game:

That's it for this moment. If you don't want to download this very fun game, then you still could check out my screenshots.
Thank you for reading,

Am I stupid?
Am I crazy?
I'm a bird, I'm a plane,
I'm a man insane.
I've been playing OpenTTD for more than 6 hours today! I was enthousiast enough and had not much to do this day, so the progress is HUGE.

I really love my game. Usually I don't talk much, and that's the same now. So if you like you can check out the next savegame, jumping to the year 1933.
