I have a blank AI - i.e one that does nothing unless you control it.

COOL!
Where'd you find it? or did you make it?
EDIT: Or did you just put in no AIs and then set the amount of competitors to like 6 or something, and they do nothing?

Someone (I think maybe Yexo) made it for me. It's called Sleeper, and will just do nothing. Once I find out who made it for me, I'll make a topic for it and post it.

Although I mainly made this for personal use, am I right in thinking hardly anyone plays it? I have never seen screenshots of anyone playing it. I thought with it being on the in-game downloadable content, it would have.

I am planning a third Swiss scenario, due for release Q1 2012, featuring extra-height levels, treelines etc. I shall make a thread for it soon enough.

I believe I played it for a brief while , great scenario imho. I think the few graphical compatiblity issues that come with newgrfs and the alpine climate made me stop. Or i just got tired of openttd once again :p

It doesn't work for me :-(
When I try "Play scenario" I get a "missing files" error:

Image

So I click "NewGRF Settings"... the (six) NewGRFs included in the .rar file are blue, but a lot are red:

Image

"Rescan files" has no effetc, so I try "Find missing content online".
But the "contents" are unknown:

What's wrong?
I'm using version 1.1.3 (as seen on the 1st picture).
I'd really like to find a swiss scenario, and this one looked so "nice" from the description...

Thanks to who will(/can) help me.

hmm strange that you only have 6 grf in the zip... i have 29 from it... check again the zip maybe ?

Edti : ok i downloaded the zip from the thread... and your right the V.1.1 only have 6 grf in the zip... i think my zip file is from the v.1, and the link seems to be inactive.

Here is was the Zip :

instead look there for some of the newgrf needed for the scenario : http://www.ttdpatch.de/download.html

It's working now!
Thanks to both, SwissFan91 and romazoon.
I really appreciate.
I would suggest not to remove your link... can be very useful if someone wants to play this scenario.

Nochmal Dankeschön.

hi!

I can't seem to get your Scenario working. I downloaded it ingame, but the NEWGRFs can't be downloaded there. i already searched a couple of sites like GRFcrawler and romazoon's link, but still I don't have all of them. can someone help here ? And yes, in version 1.1, only 6 of them are included.

Greetings, Rupso

Hi, Is there any trick to find all missing grf files? I tried to download all files, but some of them're still missing. Thank you Vitek.

The missing files...

indstatrw.grf is Industrial Station Renewals, probably version 0.80.
2ccdj.grf is probably 2CC Trains of the World

McTrucksw.grf, Scania2Trucksw.grf, SpitzerTrucksw.grf and VolvoTrucksw.grf I'm not sure, they could be early versions of George's Long Vehicles.

dbddw.grf might bel the DBXL Double Deck coaches

no idea what testw.grf might be.

You should be able to remove these in Scenario Editor and load the vehicle sets you want without any issues. Maybe. :D

So it is a way how to load the scenario (with missing files) in editor and remove the GRF? Is that some advance develop job or is way how to do it easily?

To be honest, I don't want to spend hours in trying to solve the problem instead of playing the scenario. I have maybe 2 -3 hours per week to spend with this old love game.

You can't remove NewGRFs in a scenario/savegame already containing NewGRFs, unless you use a little console command that may possibly crash the game.

Then just play the scenario with the required NewGRFs, it will enhance your playing experience.

The problem is that you actually have to FIND those NewGRFs. Unfortunately this scenario was developed before many NewGRF authors started posting their work through the in-game content download service, some of thse files are also older, outdated versions.

If it's just missing a tree NewGRF (testw.grf), why should you bother that you missed it ? Long Vehicles should (might) be compatible with later versions, whatever you get; Newer ISR (v0.9.x) might introduce a fatal locking if a train is stopped in a station and the base tile changed, but on my case it was fine (couldn't crash or move it through)... Otherwise I thought mart3p had a v0.8.2 uploaded here; older to newer 2CC is perfectly fine; The DBXL thing (not the main DBXL thing, but you can see mb's link for that) had a version of it loaded in BaNaNaS so I guess it's fine...

- Follow this, then
- Load the savegame in PAUSED state
- Open the NewGRF settings, note down the unworking things, if you already had them then remove the one already loaded and replace it with the one you have
- Click "apply changes" ; a warning box would appear, just click OK or Yes on that

If there's nothing else missing, play on. 8)

Don't forget that some NewGRF artists (not mentioning any names) still insist on not releasing their stuff on BaNaNaS.

Eh, you're only dealing with a couple of individuals there. I think most have come around to accepting BaNaNaS as a useful tool.
