Re: [OTTD] Southeast US
This map looks beautiful! One quick question, are there specific areas where there are more industries than others?

Thank you!petert wrote:This map looks beautiful! One quick question, are there specific areas where there are more industries than others?
At the moment the industries are incomplete, so the areas I've finished will be much more concentrated.
When the scenario is finished, there will still be areas with concentrated industries based on realistic industry placement. For example, farms will be highly concentrated in the area to the far left (west) of the map by the Mississippi river, coal will be almost exclusively in a band from Alabama up to West Virginia, and oil will be present in the gulf of Mexico around Louisiana.
I hope that answered your question.

Maybe I'm just stupid, but I don't see a secnario called Southeast_US. The closest thing there is is a heightmap called SE USA by Moriarity.
Re: [OTTD] Southeast US
That is the terrain I used to make the scenario, but it should be showing up in the "online content" in-game.trainmaster611 wrote:Maybe I'm just stupid, but I don't see a secnario called Southeast_US. The closest thing there is is a heightmap called SE USA by Moriarity.
Re: [OTTD] Southeast US
Ok, I've updated the scenario to version 1.0. All towns and industries have been placed. The game is intended to be played with TTRS3. At first all towns will be "self-sufficient" (won't accept petrol, tourists, etc.) but will start accepting those cargoes within a year after the start of service.
I recommend you play with av8 planes, NARS trains, eGRVTS and HEQS road vehicles, and FISH ships.
Also, a quick question, does anyone know how to get the TTRS/ECS banks to accept and produce valuables as well as (default) gold?

I very much like this scenario, and I can't wait to play it. Now all I need is a map showing the rail routes in the area and I'll be off on my merry way !

did you hand make the terrain? or was there an application that you used to make it?

I downloaded the southeast us heightmap from bananas. I think it was made using Google Earth. I did have to modify it a little for the sea level and rivers.bwong wrote:did you hand make the terrain? or was there an application that you used to make it?
Re: [OTTD] Southeast US - v. 1.0
I would like to highly recommend the usage of the cargodist patch and a realistic style of play. With so many industries on the map, making money should be very easy, so instead of doing the typical all coal mines to 1 power station, I would recommend trying to supply many of the power stations, food processing centers, vehicle factories, etc. It has certainly made my game more challenging and interesting. Hope everyone is enjoying the scenario!

I'm gonna give it a go
Ever thought about running it on a server with one of the cargodist builds ?

I would have to figure out what I was doing as I've never run an ottd server before. Maybe you could point me to a tutorial?Hamilton2007 wrote:I'm gonna give it a go

Re: [OTTD] Southeast US - v. 1.0
Just wanted to show off my first game with my finished scenario. I've been working on connecting as many industries as I can starting from Miami and going north along the east and west coasts.
