Yes I know that it does not look very good with the mapgenerator hills. But I don't see a way to make them myself and still have the feeling that they look natural. Besides that I think it would take a VERY much time. But maybe I'll see what i can do to adapt the mountains in-game. Otherwise if someone else would like to that try I could post the raw map without cities and industries.

Well, my map is very simple, have 4 big cities and a lot of space for make them grow, and some industries. This scenario was made in the municipal airport patch, so you have to play with this.

Hi Mr Slayer,

Could you maybe post a screenshot of the map? I'd like to see the map, but I don't have that patch.

Thanks,

Robin

Nice for planes and collosal junctions, but it is too flat for me, I think. Keep up and make next version with more terrain variety, maybye?

Hello jnmbk,

It has already been posted here. It has cities, but no industries (yet).

I've started working on another scenario. This time it is for the tropical climate. I just couldn't resist to give you some kind of sneak preview 8) .
This time I am making the scenarios from scratch. In BigRiver I modified a generated map. Now I must make the mountains myself. And that is one hell of a job...

To be continued...

I have just found my old North England scenario I started work on in TTDLX. I ran out of steam... ho ho... so a lot of the Pennines are not worked in as much detail as I would like.

I have tried to be accurate about where certain industries are. eg. Sheffield for Steel, Selby for Power Stations, etc. There are a good selection of cities available, and at an early stage of development so you can easily build stations into them.

Hope you like it. (I hope the conversion into OpenTTD SCN format works OK too!)

If anyone wants to work on completing the Pennines, or adding further industries/raw materials, be my guest. Please leave my sign though.

Cheers, Richard

Today I worked a couple of hours on my new scenario again. I'm not yet sure what kind of climate it is going to be: temperate or tropical? I tend to go for the tropical climate.

If you have suggestions or comments, please don't hesitate to give them. A bit of encouraging word or some goods word of advice always works stimulating.

Just took me an hour or so, this one. Could do with tidying up, but I'm happy enough with it.

It's hilly, and supposed to be a bit Scandinavian, although I wound up with English town names, d'oh. I'd rename them but I can only think of more English names. (:

My first one in Openttd, what do you guys think about it. Its a river surrounded by some lowlands wich are protected by dikes. (Its a very small map)

My Fjords scenario is currently running on my nightly server. The server is restarted with the new nightly every evening.

'ello... just a newbie passing by, dropping off a small scenario I've been working on over the last few days.

Hope it's not too bad for a first attempt :)

After a couple of minimaps I decided to make something bigger.
I watched TV at that same moment and saw a volcano. Great inspiration :)

Well, it's an island. With a volcano on it. I think it's quite a challenge for a good trainnetwork :)

[edit]
<peter1138> it's "volcano"
<R0bbie> ROFL SPANK ME
<qball> R0bbie: wouldn't you like that.

Oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooops!!!!!

Sorry folks. Just spotted that the translation from TTDLX left the date at an unplayable Year 3200ish! I've changed it to 1921.

This has been saved from the nightly build r3090 I4.5. It may not work in other versions... if there is demand, I'll redo it for basic 0.4.1.

Here is also a screen cap of the map.

Here is a US Great Lakes scenario, using the terrain import PNGmap, and my new Random Trees patch. (To get this density of trees was about 5 clicks of Random Trees.)

This is perfect for the US set, or the Arctic Renewal set. I start it in 1945 to get some use out of the early locos. If you use one of the .grf sets, you may want to move the date earlier to get use out of those.

The places and industries are random, with the industries thinned out a bit to eliminate the bunching of industries you get.

This is for r3246+ ONLY. There will not be a 0.4.0.1 version... dont ask.

I will later use the same terrain, but add real place names instead.

Enjoy!
