Got a question here, and this seems the best place to put it...

Anyone care to update the SV0 Editor to import larger than 256X256 images into TTD? I'd love to see a 2048X2048 map based on the world, not just the current 256X256 one we have now.

Such a project would be MUCH easier than starting a new world scenario from scratch.

Importing HeightMaps in OpenTTD?
Is there an executable somewhere in there that does what you want?

Searching the forums would actually be a good thing to try before typing...

Makes sense. The world is wider than it is taller when flattened out.

I imported a PNG actually, using the PNG import patch. It needed a few changes to get it working with the latest SVN version, but nothing serious.

Would it be too much asking if you could make that exe available? It would be great, until it could be made available (hopefully) in Nightlies...
I'm trying to learn how to compile the sources, but it's a long way for me.
Sorry to be a pest...

Well I don't use Windows, but I think the integrated nightly has a version of it in (if not bug whoever is maintaining it at the moment).

Thanks anyway. I appreciate.
As for the Integrated, yes, they do have a version of it, but the map generated is not compatible with the Nightlies. So it is why i asked you.
Looks like I really have to learn how to compile that beast...

The current SVN is broken on MSVC 6 and .NET (AIUI; I only have .NET), or I would quite happily compile pngmap8.

Does Cygwin have a working libpng yet?

Scia, it looks very good and I'm also glad you have used Czech town names, which are very funny.
