problem transporting rubber

Okay, i was playing in a desert scenero, and i got a subsidy offer to transport rubber between a plantation and a factory. I build a rail link between the two places and build a train. I couldn't find any carrages for transporting rubber. Is the game always like this, or am i suffering some sort of GRF glitch? If it's not a glitch, is their a GRF file to allow transportation of rubber via rail?

weird, now i suddenly have an extra van for trains that can transport rubber.

I'm pretty sure that when wagons are introduced, they don't get the "New Vehicle!" pop-up with the "Oooh!" sound effect. I'm guessing you started a game some time before the rubber wagon was introduced, then as time passed, the wagon became available, but with no fanfare or other indication.
