"OPEN THEME"


As always, rules can be found HERE.

How to enter:
Easy - simply upload your image to this topic to enter or link it from a trusted site such as flickr, photobucket, DeviantArt, your personal website etc.
Uploading is preferred as it keeps things together. If you're linking from a URL, having a small 'preview' image and a link to a high-res image would be helpful.

At the end of the month, this topic will close and a voting topic will be started with all the entries in for people to choose their top one.
All entries will be uploaded to the tt-forums wiki and stored there for voting and also for archive.
Entries close on the last day of the month, voting will be available for 7 days (approximately).

The winner will need to contact me about what they want the next theme to be and then that will be posted in the entry topic for the next month*. Then we repeat from there. Simple.
(* If the winner doesn't choose a theme within 7 days, the next month's theme will be an "Open" theme).

If you wish to change your entry, you may so long as the entries are still open. Simply upload a new one to the topic and remove your old one.
Otherwise, it may get confusing as to which one you are entering. If there are two entries submitted and you have not informed me which one you wish to be used, I will use the first one posted.

Let's see if this stirs the competition...

An abandoned and forgotten switcher's control room, previously used for manually switching rails.

Not sure if they really are forgotten (given the state they are not), but I believe these trains are no longer in service in the Netherlands.

So... unfortunately we have only 2 entries in 2 months... Do we:

1. Run the poll
2. Cancel this contest and make an "open theme" month

Cancel and run an open theme is the best option I think, with voting we would already be halfway June before the next theme would be known.

Might as well post a 3rd entry, although I'm pretty much two months late. This road is surely forgotten, so I'd say it fits the theme. This was taken by me this weekend on the island of Arholma about two hours north of Stockholm.

I'm with Chrill, does 4 entries make a worth while vote?

Ok, so keeping it moving, lets go for "Coming Soon"
So that's construction, something new, something different, or a photo of a departure board...
Presuming this is going to run for 6 weeks of remaining June and July so lots of chances to get out and get something different (or trawl over previous taken photos!)

Anyway, new tracks coming soon... altough "soon" is debatable by the looks and age of that machine...

Coming soon, a new piece of highway, which will cross overhead from the highways in the background, going into a tunnel behind me.

Coming soon to a railway near you in the North! Northern's brand new trains! The first of which entered service at the start of the month.

Expansion of Manggarai railway station, which will replace all the other three stations currently used as a long-distance termination point in Jakarta (Gambir, Pasar Senen and Tanah Abang/Tanjung Priuk). Planned to have up to 20 platforms in the future, including at least three pairs of dedicated platforms for every commuter line service and two dedicated platforms for airport trains.

Almost a bit late to the party...

Technically they have already begun.. but not completely when the competition started

Had hoped to clean the picture up a bit with the colour correction, but photoshop suddenly decided it doesn't like raw .NEF files...

Note: I am PTS trained and work within this yard often. Photos taken with permission whilst no movements were taking place during the night.
