Photo of the Month - December 2016 - Entries

Post by Voyager One »

Last month this year!

Theme:
"HOT AND COLD"
... set by the last month's winner oftcrash.

... again freely open for interpretation...

As always, rules can be found HERE.

How to enter:
Easy - simply upload your image to this topic to enter or link it from a trusted site such as flickr, photobucket, DeviantArt, your personal website etc.
Uploading is preferred as it keeps things together. If you're linking from a URL, having a small 'preview' image and a link to a high-res image would be helpful.
If uploading direct to the wiki:
Let's keep entries in a certain named format for organisation reasons as well as keeping record of them in the entries topic and here. If you prefer to upload to the wiki, please keep it in the same naming format as other entries and inform me they are already on the wiki. Name format is - month|year|POTM_user name.
For example: 1216POTM_Dave.jpg / 1216POTM_orudge.jpg / 1216POTM_GeoGhost.jpg / 1216POTM_Ameecher.jpg
You get the idea ;)

At the end of the month, this topic will close and a voting topic will be started with all the entries in for people to choose their top one.
All entries will be uploaded to the tt-forums wiki and stored there for voting and also for archive.
Entries close on the last day of the month, voting will be available for 7 days (approximately).
The winner will need to contact me about what they want the next theme to be and then that will be posted in the entry topic for the next month*. Then we repeat from there. Simple.
(* If the winner doesn't choose a theme within 7 days, the next month's theme will be an "Open" theme).

If you wish to change your entry, you may so long as the entries are still open. Simply upload a new one to the topic and remove your old one.
Otherwise, it may get confusing as to which one you are entering. If there are two entries submitted and you have not informed me which one you wish to be used, I will use the first one posted.

Cheers people!
Leon

IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR THIS MONTH'S COMPETITION.

This month there will be no extension of the competition into January. As always, after this last one, we'll have a traditional POTM Yearly Award soon afterwards.

So... let's go!

I call this one "Winter Sun". The view from a Ryanair 737 on Departure from Fuertaventura in late November, flying over Lanzarote, where the temperature was a warm 25 Celsius.

Where's the sun?

EDIT: Here's one from me: a winter sunrise and awakening on the sea.

If I remember rightly, the Sun was the other side of the Aircraft at the time, but was still causing the ability to get that beautiful shot :P

I also chime in for this month, with this picture.

Removed picture as it does not fit the rules.

Does this really fit with rule one? I wouldn't exactly say it's transport related, what do other people think?

There's nothing really transport related in the photo, or at least nothing that is the focus of it.
We've had this a few times before I believe with someone saying "There's a boat in the corner, there's a road in the background" but the focus isn't on the transport.
Whilst I'm not really against people entering things, I do feel it isn't fair on others who have made something transport-related the focus of their photo, rather than a bit in the background. If that makes sense.

Sorry for not replying sooner...
I agree here, sorry Transportman but I'd ask you to choose another picture please.

... and with that, come on people, a few days to go only and I'd hate to have a 2-picture competition this month. As I've explained before, this month's contest must end this month for the annual contest's sake. So... get those cameras snapping pics.

No problem, I'll have a look if I have something else that fits the theme.

EDIT: New entry attached to this post.

Here's a shot from the harbor in Duluth, MN, USA taken a couple days ago.
