Photo of the Month - February 2016 - Entries
Here we go!
Theme:
"PROXIMITY"
... set by the last month's winner JamieLei.
As always, rules can be found HERE.
How to enter:
Easy - simply upload your image to this topic to enter or link it from a trusted site such as flickr, photobucket, DeviantArt, your personal website etc.
Uploading is preferred as it keeps things together. If you're linking from a URL, having a small 'preview' image and a link to a high-res image would be helpful.
If uploading direct to the wiki:
Let's keep entries in a certain named format for organisation reasons as well as keeping record of them in the entries topic and here. If you prefer to upload to the wiki, please keep it in the same naming format as other entries and inform me they are already on the wiki. Name format is - month|year|POTM_user name.
For example: 0216POTM_Dave.jpg / 0216POTM_orudge.jpg / 0216POTM_GeoGhost.jpg / 0216POTM_Ameecher.jpg
You get the idea
At the end of the month, this topic will close and a voting topic will be started with all the entries in for people to choose their top one.
All entries will be uploaded to the tt-forums wiki and stored there for voting and also for archive.
Entries close on the last day of the month, voting will be available for 7 days (approximately).
The winner will need to contact me about what they want the next theme to be and then that will be posted in the entry topic for the next month*. Then we repeat from there. Simple.
(* If the winner doesn't choose a theme within 7 days, the next month's theme will be an "Open" theme).
If you wish to change your entry, you may so long as the entries are still open. Simply upload a new one to the topic and remove your old one.
Otherwise, it may get confusing as to which one you are entering. If there are two entries submitted and you have not informed me which one you wish to be used, I will use the first one posted.
Cheers people!

Could we have this run through March as well? As we're halfway through February already

I don't have a clear idea about which direction I should take this months theme, a bit more explanation would be welcome.

I think anything that's "close" will do... JamieLei didn't say much more.

If you wish to do so, no problem. Just I'd need a confirmation of this entry please.doktorhonig wrote:Can I re-enter my Concorde landing gear from three years ago?

Indeed! Anything with anything close in it! I look forward to seeing some imaginative closeups, and perhaps some imaginative backgrounds too!Voyager One wrote:I think anything that's "close" will do... JamieLei didn't say much more.

Right. This should qualify for Proximity I'd think. It's an old photo, from way back in 2010/2011 when I studied in San Diego. It's a walkway across a road outside the SDSU. Definitely transport related.

I was thinking about going on a little photo-trip, but didn't find the time. So yes, I would like to participate with that photo, please.Voyager One wrote:If you wish to do so, no problem. Just I'd need a confirmation of this entry please.
Re: Photo of the Month - February 2016 - Entries
Haven't got much of a chance to get a decent photo yet.
So for the moment... I'll submit some 365s stabled in the sidings at night, with a 317 in the middle and 313 on the far road
Taken on my phone so regretfully the quality is no where near what I'd class as good. Thus for the moment.. I'm more or less entering for the fun of it
Just for records sake for those who don't know.. I am PTS trained which is why I could get this photo.
If you're not trained for going track side and it would be against either railway law and/or your company's policy, DON'T DO IT.

I used to have a picture like that, from Ardwick Depot back when the 185s were new, they were close enough to the road that you could get a photo like that of them.

BTW people, do we want to extend this contest to March or will it be enough these 5-6 entries? What do you reckon?
Re: Photo of the Month - February 2016 - Entries
I suppose as we have a good few entries so could just keep to this month
See how it is over the next couple of days

I've always been a fan of the "bulldog nose" style of locomotive, here's a photo I took a few years ago, should fit this months theme

Re: Photo of the Month - February 2016 - Entries
We have quite enough photos, yeah. No need to extend it another month, we'd probably only get 1-2 more entries.
