I remember standing in Astoria Park and seeing an Acela going over that bridge next to the Triborough - looked magnificant upon exiting NYC!

Trains up the Hudson Valley don't take that bridge - they leave Penn from the west, turn north and head up along the west side of the island, staying on the east bank of the river all the way to Albany.

Currently on a delayed 1M01 1527 PRE-EUS, waiting just beyond Leyland. Overrunning engineering works between Preston and Wigan causing issues. Trains being taken via Manchester with 57s. Not sure if we've got one on front or if the Pendo just sounds sick. I think we have a loco.

We've been informed we are calling at Wigan so I expect we will carry on down the West Coast...

I'm currently on the way to Los Angeles from San Jose on Amtrak's Coast Starlight. It's actually my first time riding a long distance train, and sofar the journey has been a pleasure. While the train does take longer than driving on Interstate 5, this is definitively a much nicer way to travel.

Just also found out it has come from the old Smitham (Coulsdon Town) station... Looks like its a terminus once more!

On the 1805 south west trains service from Waterloo to Weymouth. At Southampton central, nice and quiet. Looking forward to burns night with my boyfriends family. They're not Scottish so I assume it is just an excuse to eat haggis and drink, because they are basically Scottish in that way...

Currently on the 20.26 SWT service from Salisbury to Woking (Exeter st David's to Waterloo), a single 159. Visited My organisations site at Porton today and was staying with my friend last night. Also 159 seats have terrible pitch but are otherwise very comfy.
