Your Last Boat Journey
Why not?
For me it was water taxis to and from Frieze Art Fair. A large one operated by NY Waterways on the way there, and a small Ikea branded one from New York Water Taxi on the way back.

Dartmouth to Kingswear on the Edgecumbe Belle. That was in 2010. Long time since I've been on a boat

Re: Your Last Boat Journey
My last boat journey was from Auckland to Rangitoto Island, and back, in July 2011. Before that, it would have been several ferry trips in Sydney, in June 2011. And before that… I can't quite remember. Probably Vancouver in May/June 2010.
Back in 2003-2005 I was on a ferry twice a week to go to school (and come back home for the weekends). On Sunday nights in the winter that tended to be a 3 hour trip, often in storms, which was always fun.

Dittisham - Dartmouth - The Sea - Dartmouth - Dittisham on my Dad's dory to go out fishing on the Skerries Bank when I was at home for easter. I don't know why I agreed to go last time, the swell was up and I was on the verge of vomiting the entire time....
Re: Your Last Boat Journey
I always forget to mention my last train journey, but I do like the idea of this thread.
I think it was a fairly standard pleasure boat trip down the Thames at a conference last April. Decent bar and good food served up at a sit down dinner. Went from Embankment pier down to the Thames barrier and back up again (which is pretty much where all Thames cruises go).

Re: Your Last Boat Journey
I go to school by boat (well, partially).
Every monday morning I take the 7.40 hydrofoil from Amsterdam to IJmuiden and make a trip IJmuiden-Amsterdam each friday afternoon. Services are pretty good, with a boat every 40 minutes (was 30, but due to speed restrictions it has become 40). The trip takes around 30 minutes.

Oh that's a tough one.
Must be the Dunoon - Gourock while it was still a car ferry so some point before June 2011!

Ferry to France. 12 hour crossing from Portsmouth to St Malo. I love ferries! They're like night trains, inexplicitly exciting.
Biiiiig ship. The Bretange the flagship of Brittany Ferries. French registered.
Very busy shipping lane at sunset.
Apparently, the English Channel is still the busiest shipping lane in the world. Hard to argue...

Re: Your Last Boat Journey
@teccuk, I am thinking those pictures would make very nice desktop wallpaper! Beautiful stuff!
Been ages since I have been on any kind of boat. I think my last trip on a boat was in 2003, when I lived in Concord, California - East Bay Area. My folks flew out from Illinois to visit over Thanksgiving, and we spent Thanksgiving day on a tour of Alcatraz. Had to take a ferry boat out to the island, of course.
I like to joke still about spending one Thanksgiving in prison - then after a few seconds, mention it was in Alcatraz, at which point, as it was decommissioned before I was born, the listener wises up!

Great picture of the harbour entry at St. Malo, brings back memories.

Re: Your Last Boat Journey
Deffo get that last one into the POTM. Amazing effort.
I did Portsmouth-Caen - brings back memories. I always get very excited when boarding, something weird about a cross channel ferry.
On the way back I took this, which isn't as good as yours: http://www.flickr.com/photos/daveworley/3975421976/
Even in the late evening it was still very busy. Loved that shot. Wish I had a tripod.

Re: Your Last Boat Journey
My last boat journey was in 2009, Newcastle upon Tyne - IJmuiden. Except for the on-board entertainment it was a nice trip.
