I think BAP co refers to the Butte, Anaconda & Pacific Railway

Yeah, thanks. That was their reporting mark. The locomotive is probably late 19th century, as this railroad was apparently a pioneer of electrification (1913) and collapsed in 1985. Hell of a way to migrate, though. The BA&P was an industrial railway in Montana.

EDIT: Damn, no dice. The locomotive is 2 ft. 6 in gauge, while the BA&P is standard gauge. I'd guess somewhere in Maine.
