This is a part of the highway I have in the suburbs of the capital city. To cross the lake and the river all vehicles have to take the highway in some point.
Some buses use it exclusively (Scania Irizar ones).

PD: I would like to have diagonal streets of American Road Set one day, as eyecandy of course.

I'm submitting this with an 800x400 preview image, and a more detailed 2450x1225 image.

This is an updated view of my classic game (played since 2010!). In the upper-left corner you will see the Wallace Manufacturing Co., which turns out manufacturing and engineering supplies for my entire map. As you go down the left side you will observe a mix of diesels, electrics and even steam engines continuing to work my lines. In the lower left corner is Wallace Plastics, which provide goods and some manufacturing supplies to my game.

Moving towards the center you observe the bustling town of Wallace, my largest city in the game and my base of all operations. The city is still transitioning from a small town to a major metropolitan area. The streets are lined with parked cars as my citizens are going about their business. The city is served by both buses and tram routes. The trams mostly lap the downtown area while buses branch out into the suburbs.

In-between these two views you can see Champions Stadium, home of FC Wallace. It looks like crowds are starting to arrive for today's game! Just to the south of the parking lot is a small warehouse, where most of the goods and food from other parts of the map come in to be distributed in Wallace and sister-city Edison.

To the right of the screen is the town of Edison, much smaller than Wallace but still a nice community that has been supportive of our growth. You may notice that nearly every transport company in the game has located their headquarter here due to the fabulous tax incentives.

And in-between Wallace and Edison is the Wallace-Edison Central Terminal, which handles the bulk of passenger train service and mail for the entire map. Passengers pass through this corridor on their way to three other hubs in the region, and soon to be connected to many more. There is also a connected heliport which offers express VIP transport to a nearby regional airport.

My entry ...
Rush Hour in Ottawa - Everybody is heading for work using their favourite public transport service, be that buses, trams, metro or regional train services, as well as interstate highspeed express trains. But, down at the freeway it is mayhem after that recent landslide, half the freeway is still closed ! It looks more like a big parking lot. Nevertheless, life must go on and thanks to the rail services it does. Please note, the photographer has not been using photo-shopping.

Getting my late entry in. I'll leave entries open for a little longer in case there are a few more stragglers :)
The Procazo Interchange in Mia Bonando, Cindini is swarming with road traffic on a warm summer afternoon. Various cars, buses and trucks ply Cindini's highways to destinations near and far. A sleeper train with car carriers can be seen, having just left Pumbeki station bound for Capitola; while commuter trains return people home independent of the congested streets.

The consummate straggler, me, is in. :D
The local authorities of North, South and East towns organized the 99th annual South to North River Valley F1 Sprint Race. The highway would be closed on race day for the duration of the race. All town employees were given two weeks off work to celebrate ... except for the bridge builders who were needed to finish the new South Bound span of the North/South River Bridge. The bridge builders went on strike. On race day, with no South Bound bridge, the local authorities cancelled the race at the very last minute. The pretty lady with the checkered flag at the start line dropped the flag in frustration. The race drivers, unaware that the race was cancelled, thought she had started the race. Off they went ... into the worst traffic jam the region had ever seen. Meanwhile, the police had stopped a speeder on the interchange overpass which resulted in a second traffic jam on the road to the West Nature Conservancy Nature Park, holding up the Emergency Response Team who were responding to a call for assistance at the Nature Park. The antique trams continued unhindered on their right of way.

And the entries have rolled in! An excellent haul, especially for January which has been quiet in the past :)

The (somewhat) suburbs of Shordinghattan Ridge.
Originally, I planned to create a oneway-tram-oneway boulevard. But the citizens and the Shordinghattan Ridge Authority had other plans, so they forced me to build my tram-boulevard underground, so there would be more room to house even moar citizens.
After completing this expensive project, some of them who voted FOR a tunneled tram complained about not reaching the tram (*sigh*). So I built a bus line to connect the outer parts of Shordinghattan Ridge to the tram.
While the busline connects Shordinghattan Ridge South and its subway station, the trams reach street level further east to connect the next subway station, Shordinghattan Ridge Fairground (not shown).

But Shordinghattan Ridge is still growing quickly... Maybe they force me to build more lines soon... *sigh*

There are more screenshots in this January competition than usual  . I agree with you, Jake. Yes, we are allowed to choose any three options, although the number of screenshots less than 10. That's a good idea :D .
I voted for screenshots of andres1555, Emperor Jake and wallyweb :D . Information on the Wiki page was also added last evening.
I had a version of the screenshot on the current theme, but just did not have time to finish and send here. I later will show a new scenario with the video  .

Regards, STD.

Re: Screenshot Of The Month Competition - January 2019 - VOTING

Post by acs121 »

Honestly, I'm very pleased by the return of OzTrans these last months. His screenshots are amazingly well done. I'm clearly voting for him as well as i voted for him the last months.
I also voted for mr jj because his screenshot is very simple, but very detailed too.
I also appreciate the many, many objects andres1555 uses in his screenshots, and so I voted for him.

Here's Munsala West station (on the western side) and Munsala HS (on the eastern). Both are train stations, and although one is bigger and the other smaller, the smaller one, Munsala HS, HS meaning High Speed, has more trains per hour than any other station. Trains from 3 companies call here. Munsala West is a larger station, which does have high-speed trains too, although they can go at maximum 200-250kph. Trains from Munsala HS can reach 380kph !

Settlement Dolinsk. Fast train № 240 "Omsk-Novosibirsk" led by a passenger electric locomotive ChS2 stopped for a short stop on the Dolinsk platform. Electric train ER2 with commuter "Dolotova - Kamensk" went to the village Tavda. From Dolinsk to Tavda can also be reached by bus, minibus and private car. Both settlements are connected by the long-distance road M20, which can be reached by public transport or private car from Omsk to Novosibirsk and back as an alternative to the passenger train.

My entry ...
Ross River, a quaint hamlet, where the wood cutters have enjoyed a very pleasant and quiet lifestyle for a long time; they do like the slow pace in the valley; but now they dislike what has been happening in the foothills behind their village - the hectic future has come to meet the unhurried past.

Man, this month went by fast :P
Magometon High Line station, where bullet trains speed right through the station building! Four rail types meet here: trams, metro (with platforms hidden under the bridge), fast regional rail and high speed rail (but they don't stop here, you'll have to transfer to Rutherford).
