Here's my current project, playing 0.3.1 with the big maps, although I've spent my entire working mostly just on this one junction and it's outlets.

Using some deports - yes
Look at TTDPatch Suggestion about Highways - there is system for making highways

PS in Sourceforge tracer some of coders say that it is not needed - but i dont think so

Because they're the other side of the tunnel, and he wants to use presignals to their maximum potential.

I started a new game with 'mountainous' terrain. It's my first real attempt to manage on this terrain, and it's not easy. I'm playing with some 'build while paused' so that I can build a nice big steam network. These screens were taken just after I cleared my loan (was up to £500,000 at one stage!).

Edit: Sorry, they're all 800x600, so you'll have to click on them to see.

Nice junction! I used the tunnel to avoid having to move lots of earth or make trains go up big gradients.

The current busiest area of the map. Industries seem to have clustered around low land. Sinningbury Valley can successfully handle 2 trains simultaneously.

Company HQ (soon to be upgraded, we hear) in a very scenic location! Below, a single wood train is all that occupies the high capacity coastal line.
