[OTTD] Screens by Valdez
Re: [OTTD] Screens by Valdez
Sunshare: They're part of the Canadian Station set (good luck finding THAT one, though)
S-Transport: When I have ~100M in cash I tend to get rid of some of it (to about 20M) to keep things interesting (either via cheat, or - like in this case - I just bulldoze some ocean squares). As for patch - yeah, I use some patchpack that was around in late 2013 - signals on bridges + timetable separation are the features I consider essential, the rest is just.. there.
Also, screenshots:
#1 - Timbersbrook station during an off-peak period. I was tempted to do a reference to superiority of red color, but in this case the red ones don't actually go faster. The whole point of Class 52 is their huge power and tractive effort, though - second only to the Deltics with regards to power and having THE highest TE of all the engines currently available means seriously quick acceleration even with a full-length express..
#2 - Crunch. GUR's aviation arm can write off a new (and expensive) turboprop. Given the nature of the accident and the load of the plane (i.e. full), 6 dead is simply a miracle.
#3 - Just when I'm busy replacing the steam fleet, I get this message that some of the old EMUs are becoming life-expired. Oh well, I wanted to use the new EMU design anyway, I might as well do it here. So.. here it is, a double 4-CIG on a Broadstairs-Shipley semi-fast service, just leaving the sidings.

Image dump time...
#1 - A brand new class AM10 EMU in a bay platform at Warley, waiting for its scheduled departure time..
#2 - One of the last 4-6-0 5MT steam engines still running around, passing their replacement - a dual-power Type JB. The 650hp power while running off the 3rd rail is not much of a limitation in this case, as the non-electrified part of the route is just a short stretch between Huxley and Rayleigh.
#3 - Usual traffic at Knottingley, with a pair of 8-car DMUs and a Deltic-hauled express..

Re: [OTTD] Screens by Valdez
#1 - With the Shipley-Darligton semi-fast trains there is a similar problem to the Broadstairs-Rayleigh-Rochester ones - while a considerable portion of the line is electrified, some stretches aren't. And in this case, the non-electrified parts are rather long, so an alternate solution had been proposed - a combination of 8-CIG unit with a Type 2 diesel, here seen on one of two electrified parts of the line..
#2 - Carrington is the western terminus of the 1.5kV DC network. With the recent introduction of MGR hoppers the ore trains have been rearranged to take advantage of the higher top speed and capacity.
#3 - Another iron ore train, this time hauled by two 37s..

#1 - Another part of the 1.5kV DC network, just a bit northeast from Carrington
#2 - Kingston, with its recently built airport
#3 - The suburban lines from Shipley to Corby are now electrified as part of a loop line serving the new airport located halfway between Corby and Burnham. Also the original 1938 stock on the underground line has been replaced by new 1967 stock.

Re: [OTTD] Screens by Valdez
Neat! I very much like the way you design the network!
Could you elaborate, please?[...]and UKRS2 + addon are modified too.
My scenarios for JGRpp: Motor City (1910), Fortune Bay (1993)
Re: [OTTD] Screens by Valdez
Dr. B. Ching: sorry for the late reply..
The UKRS modifications are various tweaks: higher pax capacity (well, this IS a CargoDist game - all those transferring pax use a lot of capacity), faster loading (to compensate for the capacity - the loading times should be same as with original capacity), powered DMU trailers (where applicable - i.e. Sprinter and onwards), bunch of minor fixes (tilting, trailer length for Wessex EMU etc..)
Also, screenshots:
#1 - By late 1968 the last mainline steam engines were withdrawn - a quartet of 2-10-0 hauling steel from Grange Moor to Warwick, now each of them is replaced by a pair of 37s. The overall capacity increase was much needed there. The original EM1s on the iron ore MGRs are now reaching the end of their useful life - they will be replaced by class 37 too..
#2 - Another plane crash, this time with much deadlier consequences. A 1-11 overshoots the runway at Durham and ends up in flames, killing all but 19 of its passengers & crew
#3 - 1976 marks another change on the network. The aging Metro-Cammel EMUs on various suburban services north and west from Shipley have been replaced by Class 313s. The 3rd rail on the line from Watford to Finsbury Park, now unnecessary, has been removed in order to save maintenance money.

Re: [OTTD] Screens by Valdez
#1 - Radcliffe North junction. The Watford-Shipley commuter service is run by class 313s and 310s, with the service patterns:
313s - All-stop from Watford to Finsbury, switch to 3rd rail, all-stop to Shipley (with a dedicated 3rd rail platform)
310s - All-stop from Watford to Finsbury, then Upper Foxdale, Shipley
#2 - Western platforms of Corby Station used to be bay platforms - one facing north, the other south. They have been rebuilt to accomodate the new through running on the northern loop line. Class 313 switch from 3rd rail to OHC here.
#3 - Another plane crash at Durham airport, this time the only casualties were the pilots. Also, HSTs.

Re: [OTTD] Screens by Valdez
#1 - sic transit gloria mundi.. A pair of Deltics, displaced from their original work by new HSTs, hauling an oil train from Dorchester oil terminal to Mytholmroyd refinery.
#2 - Another engine class largely displaced by the HSTs are the Westerns. Unline the Deltics, most 52s ended in storage with only a handful being used in lesser services, like this Freightliner train from Wakefield Dairy.
#3 - Part of the map in 1980. The largest changes compared to the last map shown (1962) are:
- Electrification of the Shipley-Eccles line (finished 1965)
- Rebuilt Shipley Northern Loop line, with 25kV OHC (1968 for the loop, 1976 connected to the Bedford-Radcliffe-Corby line)
- OHC on the iron ore line (Carrington-Heanor junction) removed 1973
- Electrification of the Broadstairs-Burgess Hill line (1975)
- Stockton-Sevenoaks electrified 1976, passenger services started in 1979

Screens with various lists...
With regards to the engine list - in order to reduce its size, I skipped steam engines (most of which are just one-of-a-kind stored for posterity anyway).

Also, one giant screen of Shipley area.. There's another in this thread, roughly from the 1880s - so, check the difference

#1 - 1980s came with a new livery..
#2 - and a couple of electrification projects - the suburban lines from Shipley to Wrentnall are now electrified at 25kV OHC..
#3 - Not all new rolling stock is electric. A brand-new freight diesel on a Freightliner service, replacing an old Warship..

#1 - Quemerford North junction with Yaxley-Sunderland express
#2 - New DMUs and a modified track layout at Kings Lynn. The Todmorden loop has been recently singled.
#3 - Sheffield station. The Sprinter is heading towards Solihull.

Re: [OTTD] Screens by Valdez
#1 - In 1985 the original Bury-Rochdale stopping service was extended to Shipley via Stockton, and the trains themselves have been extended to 10-car units.
#2 - Speaking of dense suburban electric services, here's one of the new Class 321s on Warley-St.Catherines stopper, with 3 units for a total of 12 cars
#3 - The southeast has little to offer in terms of new developments. One of the highlights is a branch of the Scunthorpe suburban electric serving the mainline station, adding some extra capacity.

Loving these Valdez, and I have to say that I've borrowed some of your track work designs for my own games.
