I don't even remember that game.. I use Total Bridge Renewal Set combined with Total Town Replacement Set roads. That bridge in particular, I am not sure where it came from. Maybe the TTRS wooden bridge. Probably so

I think it was actually in an old version of TBRS which got ditched in favour of some other type of bridge.

Ah. I think everyone wants graphics they don't have. When having had them for a while, they become boring and they want new ones. It goes like this a lot, I think..

emmm im not sure that screenys containing the dreaded one tile sharp turn could be considered total masterpieces.
Except that not too bad, nice tree set you got there pal.

Where are we talking now? On minor railroads and such, they're actually quite reasonable. You don't need a high speed when you're doing a small rural/local route. I'd never use it on the mainlines. Besides, I've never been one to say the pictures are total masterpieces, nor have anyone ever said they were :P

Gotta agree with Chrill here - if the 2x45s don't slow the train down much, and keep the cost down, in an early period, why not?

A number of times I've had a choice of spending £25,000 making a spiral to climb a hill, £15,000 to terraform it to reduce the corners and £2000 to build the tracks - and if the top speed of the train is only 45mph anyway, what's the problem?

Looks freaking ugly. I only use 2x45 at narrow-gauge.

I've never used 2x45's, but I have used a one-tile turn at a few sections :P

Why thank you, Benny! I've recently lost a bit of interest in playing these games, sadly. I'll probably get back into it sooner or later

New game!! I decided to launch a game in 1880, temperate, 1024 x 512 map, NARS 2.0, some other GRFs. The most notable new grf is the lovely Swedish houses - this could really be a network somewhere in Sweden. I love it!

1. The network hub in Höllviken. The year is 1888. The platforms going off to the west goes straight to a large city in the mountains, Gustavsberg. This was the first route built by the company, Hawthorn & Co, and traffic begun in late 1880. The tracks to the east run off to a small seaside town called Örnsköldsvik, and also to a city far away, Ljungby, as well as to the sleepy Sala. Routemap to come!

2. Aforementioned Örnsköldsvik. You see a train coming down from the mountains, this route goes to a village named Vallenholm. The year is still 1888, the local train to Vallenholm is nothing less than a 2-6-0 Mogul with two passenger carriages.

3. This is the also aforementioned town of Gustavsberg. Traffic is handled with 2-6-0 Moguls here as well, but they have 4 carriages, and there are two separate trains to handle the large load of passengers between the two big cities.

4. In 1894, Höllviken was redesigned to cope with a much larger number of trains. A new mainline had been built all the way to the distant town of Sala. The depot sitting at the entrance was removed, the Gustavsberg trains got separated and a third platform was added! Also, enjoy the amazing Swedish Houses - they look brilliant here

5. The local train to Vallenholm was unprofitable and did not run often enough to please the few citizens of Vallenholm. With the arrival of the "Electric Interurban" in 1892, Hawthorn & Co decided to spend a great deal of money turning the local mountain route into a line with electric overheads and passing points for the trains. The result was two profitable trains, both running one Electric Interurban and one passenger car for a total capacity of 93 passengers.

6. Accurate routemap in 1894. Request a place if you want to, but I hope to keep showing you screenshots of this one. I've not been playing OpenTTD for aaaaages!

Nice shoots you got there Chrill!

But wait a minute, I see the TTRS roads but no TTRS buildings, have you modified TTRS by yourself to only include the roads?

Irwe, I do believe there's a paramater where you can specify only the default buildings show up in TTRS, so you get all but the houses.
I might be wrong there, however.

Unfortunately the only parameters there are about the buildings are these:

Parameters
1st
0 - Use the new building types only, default TTD buildings are disabled
1 (default) New house types are added without modifying the old types, so towns will have both original TTD and new buildings.

3rd
0 - Don't use TTRS-v3 roads and bridges.
1 - Use TTRS-v3 roads and default TTD road bridges.
2 (default) Use TTRS-v3 roads and road bridge graphics.

With these settings, there is no way to play with only the roads activated :(

Strange, I could have sworn there was one for it.
Though, I imagine if you wanted, you could modify the grf to add a option which does the reverse of paramater 1, set to 0 - disable TTRS buildings, keeping the original, then with your houses loaded, they should replace the default.
I think.

There is a third parameter which allows you to select which time period you want. You can either choose all periods or only one of three or four. Unfortunately you can't exclude one AFAIK, I never liked how my cities turned into high rise buildings only after the 1980s :(

TTRS houses, era 1, spawns from 1920-1950. It's currently 1894. Since the Swedish houses can be built this early, they're the only ones actually being built, I guess. I love the looks of these towns with SweHouses though!! :)

Oh that explains it. I've actually been thinking about having my own road set for the swedish houses but the TTRS roads just looks so gorgeous. I might talk to Zimmlock about it.. but enought about that! Let's focus on Chrill's wonderfull screenshoots.
