Screenshot Contest - Discussion (Read first post!)

Post by DeletedUser21 »

Edit by Raichase: Please post all feedback on the competition in it's current form (as seen here) in this topic. Changes to rules, suggestions, etc should be put here and not in the official topic. Thanks!

Also changed topic title and whatnot. Please find discussion for the current version of the contest starting from this post: http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php?p=625905#p625905

Original post follows:

Yes ladies and gentlemen!

As a slight adaptation of Daves fotopic contest I tought of something similar. Not as fancy with a seperate site for all the screenshots but the forums will do fine. :]

How it works? Relatively simple:

"People make a screenshot of a nice place in their TT game. (May that be TTO, TTD, TTDP, and OTTD.) That can be a shot of a nice networklayout with some scenery, or scenic place with just 1 trainline in it, it's all up to you."

Pictures can be just posted in this thread and after say... 10 days, then after another 10 days of voting, I will announce a winner. People can vote for the best screenshot within these last 10 days. If there are enough votees then I can also produce results for not only the 'best screenshot alltime' but also best TTO screenshot or best TTDP screenshot etc. (For every TT game available.)
If there aren't that many votes, only the best screenshot of alltime will do fine me thinks.

After those 20 days I will just count the votes and thats it. You have the honour of having the best TT picture of the forums. :D

(I will not participate because of organisation reasons. :P )

Ow on a side note, please name your screenshot and with what version of TT it is made. :) (And please in .png format. )

Jpmaster was smart and so the rule of non-voting on yourself goes into effect immidiatly. :P

Now let the screenies appear! :P

I think that I should make a rule about how many entries one can make. In this case I allow 3 screenshots per user. :) However you may just vote for 1 screenshot. (Even if that user has more.)

White Rabbit, I assume that you made these in TTDP? :)

Oh indeed, I didn't notice it. So me guesses that it is OTTD then.

Well anyway, point still stands, I think it's best if everyone tags their screenies with the name of the game type they made the screeny with. :D

My way of using PBS : no signals, well only one to turn the whole track into one PBS block.

And the second one with the newest cool feature in full use : aquaducts, sadly enough with quite some clipping errors, but who cares as long as it works. :D

Last, but not least : canals have made it possible for this city to create the desperately neede space to expand.

[edit] all screens are TTDP, of course. [/edit]

Here's my entry. One is a screenshot of an old game, so the networking is bad, but I think it has a feeling or how to say it :). The other is from a fresh game.

EDIT: yeah, these are all TTDP.

not telling if you are going to use them in OpenTTD as it is against the licence that comes with them.

If he doesn't know where to get the tunnels, how could he know whom to ask?

Besides, he never stated that he intended to use them in OTTD...

It's from the Czech community.
I don't have a direct download now, but I got it somewhere from their forum where they posted a separate tunnel grf.
I'll see if I can find it.

[edit]Already found it, here on these forums.[/edit]
