Re: [OTTD] Lankku's Screenshots 'n' Other Junk
I think that's just the carraiges not being updated when I autoreplaced the locos, meaning that modern locos end up hauling steam age carraiges. It's not a grf, anyway.
Anyhoo, more shots.
1st is Gunway, the original terminus of the first mainline.
2nd is Mondwood junction and station, just north of Trutburg
3rd is a full image of Cudhead Cross (again). The place has grown excessively, helped along by a bit of urban planning. Cudhead Cross North may have to be expanded at some point.

Re: [OTTD] Lankku's Screenshots 'n' Other Junk
Changed my mind on expanding Cudhead Cross North, instead opting to build a new station to the East. Trains for the East have been re routed to the new station named Cudhead Cross Heights.
Badingbury however, being on a peninsula and the end of a single mainline had to be expanded. An avoiding line to dodge Cudhead Cross was built for Semi-Fasts and Goods trains.
Lastly is the train list showing all groups.

No, those carriages are normally in company colour, and that brown is not the standard CC brown - it looks like a dodgy company colour replacement GRF to me, since a few pixels are still CC blue and the shading is wrong. BTW, nicely made stationsLankku wrote:I think that's just the carraiges not being updated when I autoreplaced the locos, meaning that modern locos end up hauling steam age carraiges. But that'd make all the trains brown.Emperor Jake wrote:it looks like a dodgy company colour replacement GRF to me, since a few pixels are still CC blue and the shading is wrong.

No, the problem is that Pikka' messed up on this, but if you apply his Purple-Black or Mauve-Black Grf, the color would be fixed to a more appropriately Gray.
Something goes here, hell if I know.

Re: [OTTD] Lankku's Screenshots 'n' Other Junk
Not necessarily, as the (dodgy) GRF would only replace the recolour sprite for one colour (ie brown). And you can set different colours for different trains, such as making only diesel-hauled passenger wagons brown.Ameecher wrote: But that'd make all the trains brown.
I believe those GRFs only replace purple or mauve with black, they have nothing to do with brown.Comm Cody wrote:No, the problem is that Pikka' messed up on this, but if you apply his Purple-Black or Mauve-Black Grf, the color would be fixed to a more appropriately Gray.
Here is a direct comparison between the standard TTD brown and the one in the screenshot. I took the standard brown directly from a game screenshot of an old UKRS wagon painted brown. I don't know, maybe it was an earlier version of UKRS, or some company colour replacement test GRF that Lankku forgot about. Or maybe he recoloured them manually and forgot about it.
[shameless plug]
BTW, there is a much better brown (and other colours) in my NewCC company colour replacement set

I have no idea what did it, other than that it wasn't me conciously doing it. Can no longer check however as that savegame was lost to corruption following a nuke and boot.

Livestock actually. Means it's a pretty light train requiring just one class 47.

New game. Using the NARS in Arctic climate, with extra height levels, mountainous terrain, bring on the pain.
First two shots are of loaded coal trains fighting the gradients to climb over the ridges that block the valleys their mines are in, with one route getting very close to the snow line. The third image is the power station the trains all head to. The snow line is set at 40, but the power station is at sea level. Should give an idea how high up the trains start their journeys.

A few years have gone by things are developing nicely. Cadingstone has been connected to the mainline with two stations, one for agricultural traffic from the various farms along the mainline, and one for passengers to Linnbridge where the food ends up.

Re: [OTTD] Lankku's Screenshots 'n' Other Junk
Chillcores patch pack combines the two, that being what I'm using. So far however I've been unable to figure out how to switch it off so I'll probably be abandoning this save due to how game breaking cargo dist is for my play style and on this map. It's an impressive patch, but it's annoying the bejesus out of me.

To turn off Cargodist, go to Advanced Settings>Link Graph and switch all distribution to Manual.

Thats very busy. If I tried putting that many trains on that complex a piece of track I would most likely fail.

Early days, need to make money...
Hey, this place looks good. Maybe I can make use of that factory?
Oooh yes, I can feel the money already...
Yes, now we're getting somewhere.

Re: [OTTD] Lankku's Screenshots 'n' Other Junk
Perhaps a few more trains to fill these new tracks...
I know I shouldn't, but a few more can't hurt, right?
Right?
Perhaps that wasn't the best idea.
