Re: [OTTD] 2-10-0's Screenshots 'n' Other Junk
A week late in the posting of my reply shot, but here it is nonetheless.
The approach to the three mainline stations is irrational, though due to the lack of traffic in more recent years, free of problems traffic wise.
However our Financial Managers believe this to be a problem; The city and it's stations are vastly underserviced whichs means that potential profit is being ignored.
Together with the companies Surveyers, Engineers and Traffic Managers, they have produced a plan which they believe could allow for vastly improved services.
Their plan is as follows;
(Map) For the north bound mixed traffic line (Marked in Blue). is to be upgraded to four track from the two and three track configuration currently in situe up to the city of Brendingham. The station there will be upgraded to a six platform set up with four through platforms and two terminus platforms placed either in the centre or on one side of the station.
The changes on the east bound mixed traffic line (Marked in Red) are similar with the line being four tracked as far as Gunbourne. However the station at Gundbourne will not require much work in this plan as it already has two terminus platforms, though one extra may be added to cope with the extra traffic. Some work will of course be required at the junction near Watfingway, but this will only be some minor changes to the layout. We hope.
The junction of Slundingston will most definatly have to be totally redesigned. It is currently a mismatch of four different eras of construction and four different lines; three mainlines, one suburban. One of the mainlines however does not connect with anyother line till it is some distance eastward, and so will only be rerooted rather than upgraded.
This line's (Marked in purple) future is somewhat blurred of late though as falling passenger numbers begin to to hit it hard. While some areas of the country continue to use passenger rail as they have done for over half a century, people here are prefering to drive due to thetowns and cities here being very close to eachother. The railway itself is at another disadvantage due to the terrain; It is forced to wind its way up, down and round and round to get where it needs to be. Not particuly good for an express passenger line. Traffic managers have come up with three simple ideas to attempt to make this line profitable again; Allow freight to travel on it, devolve it, or close it. A decision is to be made in Autumn 1987. For now, this lines future hangs in the balance...

New game, new train set, new city set, new terrain.
CanSet and most related grfs are used.

For many years, these remote Islands in the North Atlantic have been ignored and the locals left to make their own way around. Due to the climate and terrain, they have struggled to do so. In 1920, the local government decided to let big buisiness give them a helping hand by enacting the Atlantic Transport bill which gave any company the right to begin construction of transportation facilities on the islands.
Only one company decided to take up the challenge; Islander Haulage .Inc. People doubted the boss's sanity, and quite rightly so as he was recently released from Tedston's mental hospital after seven years of intensive treatment.
Construction began in Gardinghall by to two adjacent coal mines. The coal was planned to be shipped south to a power station near Sindingham.
These following shots show the first train on it's maiden voyage.
The train (hauled by a 4-6-0) clatters out of the depot towards the loading station.
Crossing the bridge over a narrow sea inlet by Little Trontfingfield.
The train is seen here exiting the tunnel just south west of the village on Canpool.

Map of the route.
In 1923, the first passenger line was opened. Running between the town of Tedston and the village of Gudington. We will be following a Pacific working the express from Tedston.
The express loads in Platform 2. In Platform 1, a 4-6-0 hauled local is about to depart with a northbound train.

The train is seen here rumbling through the station of Tradingworth.
Once again, heading uphill and snaking around the coast.

Train is seen passing a local in one of the loops on the line. This is the same local we saw in Tedston earlier.
And finally, the train arrives in Gudington.

Tedston and company details in 1960.
Plendingbury in 1960.
Re: [OTTD] 2-10-0's Screenshots 'n' Other Junk
Lookin real good, only thing I don't like is the way you get so many similar looking New York style buildings in that set when the towns get so big.
I like the routes though, keep it up

Re: [OTTD] 2-10-0's- I mean Lankku's Screenshots 'n' Other Junk
Three different games on one page... Yes, I've started another, though this time it's because we're on a new PC...
Anyway, I'm using my Mountains, Lakes, etc scenario. Grfs are the same as the last game except I'm using the NARS now.
And so, without further ado, the first bunch of screenshots:
We will be following Edmonton Eastern's first train, a Pacific hauled stopper on the line from Edmonton. Here it stands in Edmonton station. Company details are also shown.
Here the train is seen climbing up the pass leading out of Edmonton.
Here we see the train just after rounding a curve after crossing a small bridge. One of the routes passing loops is also visible.

Twisting around the edges of the lake... They say there are excellent views from the observation car.
Here the train has just crossed the road from Edmonton and is about to enter one of the tunnel west of Vancouver.
And arriving in Vancouver itself.

Re: [OTTD] 2-10-0's- I mean Lankku's Screenshots 'n' Other Junk
After leaving Vancouver and it's Eastern tunnel, the line climbs upwards, travelling alongside the road from Edmonton.
The train is seen here just after leaving a short tunnel near a paper mill.
And the train arrives in Victoria. Due to the river, the station could only be built with one platform. The food processing plant on the right will be utilised by the company in the near future as there are numerous farms along the route from Edmonton.

Map as of 3rd Feb 1920. The red line shows the planned extension of this route. The purple line is to be the Drumheller branch.

I like your screenshots very much, especially the realistic junction-systems. Keep up the good work!

Now that is rather excellent, busy looking but logical. Is there any way to get roadset support for those bridges though?

There is a TBRS newGRF with TTRS roads here. Just scroll down the page.
Edit: I love that screenshot.

Oooooooh!
Excellent track layouts again, and Grimsby is so pretty (never thought I'd say that in my life...), as is that map, awesome stuff
