These are awesome!

Lake Peliz in 1975 prior to the construction of the hydro-electric dam scheme that would need the mainline to be rerouted away from the lake edge.
2 years later after water levels have risen with transport aligned along its new corridors.

Wallisellen, bit of a sprawling mess but makes a change to some of my main stations by having ample capacity on its approach lines.

Serious capacity!
Re: [TTDP/OTTD] Ameecher's Screenshots
Now if only there were some trains making use of it ...
(but I agree. I've said it before, but I really like your building style )

Re: [TTDP/OTTD] Ameecher's Screenshots
Picked a bad time for the shot admittedly! There are 46 trains using the 10 platforms here and about 25/30 of those are concentrated on the suburban network. A few freights pass through too.
Re: [TTDP/OTTD] Ameecher's Screenshots
The fact that is empty shows how good it is.
Re: [TTDP/OTTD] Ameecher's Screenshots
Stans had an antiquated layout that just didn't match the needs of the routes serving it. With a new line in progress to join at the junction the signalling needed updating and the decision was made to make some wider scale changes.
First is the old layout. The long distance ocean liners used to depart from here but the growth of air travel has mean that the docks station is massively over equipped for its role now serving mainly as a commuter station for the central business district of the city. Ferries still serve here but the long platforms are not necessary and the inability for local trains along the single track coast line to interchange with the mainline without a reversal is an operational hindrance and passenger inconvenience. The revised layout sees coastal trains diverted to the junction station with the docks station heavily rationalised and served by the new branch line service to retain the connectivity. The main has been realigned to the west of the station to allow higher speeds to be maintained by through trains. The next project is to electrify the mainline.

So my day job is to do with timetabling trains and maximizing capacity. I've played various different patchpacks with timetabling but never really used it aside from to get trains to run at even intervals. This time I decided to see how much stuff I could run effectively on basic infrastructure - here is a video of a junction station showing the sequence of events that happen regularly. (Don't bother watching the first 50 seconds of the video, there is nothing going on except the finances window appearing - I seemingly can't skip it out of the embedded clip though).

You used to give me dogs abuse for leaving the reserved tracks on!
Nice video. Old timers not allowed to play anymore though.
