I am assuming this wont be in English. And there isn't much information on the features of the game. But the screen shots look good though.

Ah, A-Ressya de Yukô. (Let's go by A-Train) I've played that a lot on my old mac after I found it somewhere on a macintosh far a long long time ago. Brings back good memories, although I didn't understand the game that well back then. It had a great financing and stock exchange system and later on the trains could travel on different levels as well. With under-/aboveground stations, signals, etc. Some features one can't (yet?) find in OTTD. (I know, I know, map array)

The newer 3D versions are a bit too much IMO. They don't look that much better than the older versions and the trains look a bit weird... I think A-Train 7 looked much better. (Though the best is A-Train 4)

Some of the features that may inspire OTTD developers from the A-Train games:
- Extended Stock market: buy/sell shares from different industrial/financial/3rd sector branches and companies;
- Company expandability's: build other secondary/tertiary buildings like stadiums, office buildings, apartments, hot springs, ski resorts, golf courses, theme parks, etc. to transport dedicated passengers/tourists (who will only or will be most likely to travel with your company) towards it and receive a revenue from the income, but also pay maintenance costs.

Do you know Japanese if you don't how do you work out what the functions do.

If i could find ArtDink email address i would ask them to make a English version. But it appears they have no email address.

I don't think there will be an English release as the last English language release was A-Train 3. Even the previous A-Train HX for the XBox360 was released only for the Japanese market. The website has an English part, but still the game is completely in Japanese.

You can still try though:

http://www.artdink.co.jp/support.html

YS Bldg 1F, 1-2-13 Tsukishima Chuo-ku,Tokyo 104-0052, Japan
(TEL) +81-3-6219-7060

Really cool to see that they've grown so popular in Japan that they had to move from Chiba to Tôkyô.

If everyone emails them we may get a English version. No harm in trying.

I will be interested how CZAR ALEKSANDER goes with playing the game.

The Japanese think it's either 'cool' to use English or the corresponding Japanese terms use specified Kanji (Chinese characters) that aren't that widespread among the general public.

You can say that about TTD too. While the graphics are nice in Lomo it doesn't beat the game play of TTD. To me graphics are not the most important thing it is the game play. And most gamers are prepared to sacrifice graphics for better game play which is why TTD has been around for so long no other game has beaten its game play.

I had a copy of A train 6 on the PS2 - I loved it, especially the 3d-ness but the controls were a pig to use (obviously due to the lack of a mouse). If I see this in the shops, I'd be very temped to buy it! But I'm wary about purchasing overseas :(

I wouldn't say that the graphics in Lomo are better than TTD. They look better but they aren't. Let me explain: Sprites are bigger and there are the many many different sprites for slopes, angles. So you have more detail to work with. But colors used are dull. Buildings are badly skined. I think that if we make graphics for 128 or 256 tilesets for OTTD in 8bpp, OpenGFX project style, they will look much much better than Lomo ones.

Hi CZAR ALEKSANDER.

Have you received the game yet. When you do please post some pictures and tell us what the game play is like. I have heard a lot of Sim city fans have purchased the Xbox version of A-Train HX because of the building environment.

A lot of Sim City fans were upset with EA bringing out SCS which was a flop. So they have purchase ATrain as a replacement.
