The Trains and Buildings in RT2

Post by Railwaymodeler »

Well, all the trains and buildings in RT2 are photographed models (According to a phamplet about the game I had gotten some time ago at a hobby show). Can you identify the trains or, better yet, buildings used in the game, from original to Platinum?

I know many of the original models of US trains were Athearn, a popular US maker of HO scale trains. The original game even had a short clip about them. (Product placement, anyone?)

Does anyone have any of the models from the game? I have the SDP-40 in warbonnet colors, the original production from the late '60s, with brass wheels, even, but it is being repaired right now.

Although I doubt "cool" people would be showcasing his model railway system to a corporate rail boss in real life. :P

So what? I suppose I'm not cool- my last year's holiday party was the grand opening of my model railroad. The guest list was all bus drivers and rail crews, and some of the high ups at the BNSF Chicago Division. Only one not from the transport industry was my girlfriend.

The clip was like something I would do.

But a corporate rail boss, which was my main point?

Fine. You win. But I figured I was close enough.

Anyway, I just saw today, in the hobby shop owner's private collection, the open top cattle car from the game. It was made by a company called 'Ye old Huff and Puff' and the bodywork is made almost entirely from balsawood. Now I got to find this car for myself!

That aside, one must admit that the models used in the game were good selections.
