Task 1: restructure the Design Document

Post by Hyronymus » 27 Jun 2006 10:34

Wiki page: http://www.transportempire.com/wiki/ind ... n_Document

Before we can move on to other tasks we need to tackle the structure of the Design Document. I think we all agree that it should be changed. There are some proposals on the talk page but noone seems to have the guts to decide upon the proposals.

What I personally would like is if Steve could dwell upon his suggestion about putting all defined attributes into 1 central place. I know you explained it to me already but it won't hurt to explian it here again (I hope).

I dislike to repeat myself, but the general idea is to remove all of the information such as size, weight, etc from each individual vehicle category and concentrate it in one place. This is because there is an awful lot of repetition here and it's all pretty boring.

Instead, we can have each section for ideas that are actually about the vehicles. Hopefully.

An example of the idea is below, ours would be better and possible covering multiple pages.

Wow, that's very impressive. A lot to take in...
The format seems good and the content too, although it's obviously hard to check it all.

As we did not have a meeting, would somebody like to volunteer to be responsible for coming up with a new structure for how the Design Document should be laid out?

If this person/s could also submit their design before the end of the weekend (I dont think its a massive job really) then we could start discussion, and hopefully come to a conclusion by this time next week.

Should no one step forward in the next 24 hours then we should have a meeting tomorrow (Saturday, 14:00 GMT) to discuss this further.

I don't have any objections either, aarona.

Topic became obsolete (08112006).
