Why not just do a top-down version....

All this talk of 2d (isometric) vs 3d is too hard and it'd take too long to do anyway...why not just do it as a top-down game a la "Rails Across America" or SimCity with distinct Industrial Areas/Commerical Areas/Residential Areas...

Anyone thought of a name for this "Transport Tycoon 2" - you can't call it Transport Tycoon surely...here is a poll (see below)

I personally think Transit King is a "pretty cool" name - only problem is that it sounds like your the king of ford transit vans or something.

Well, doing it in 3D may take a while, but it'd be worth it in the end.

Oh, and I added "Transport Master" to the list of options.

yeah, Transport Empire isn't bad - Empire is Empire, sth veeeery big, not just Kingdom or simple tycoon but EMPIRE

I mean all the other names sound like a rip of TT, transport empire just sounds original... I cant recall anyone using it in a game title in this way

We should avoid any resemblance to TTD for legal issues. And the name is not to important right now, to much work has to be done before we can even call it Game! Regardless of the name.

Of course, somebody will be confused by "Trader Empires". Again, maybe some legal issues involved? You never know.

but single 'tycoon' doesn't explain, what is whole game about - Transporting... (and I don't remember if there was a 'Tycoon' game in the past)... IMO 'Transport' word is necessary
