I'm writing something at the moment which we could use as a theme tune.
I was watching something yesterday about how Howard Shore went about writing the music for Lord of the Rings. What he did was to basically write a short theme for each part of the story - the Shire, Rivendell, Rohan, the Uruk-Hai, Fangorn Forest, and so on - then write all the different pieces of music around these themes. I haven't done that per se, but I've written a short melody which will be played in several different styles in this piece of music. So far I've got a sort of modern-classical style and rock, or, the closest to rock you can come with midi.

The intro to the above file.
The solo sine-like thing is still in a bit of a mess, but I'll sort that out tomorrow.
Its my first Cubase production (Sort of, Its my brother playing most of the instruments, though I added quite extensively to it) . Comments?

Exacto-bloody-cisely. I wrote it as music to be played when the game starts up - we should have the same thing as TTD, with transport networks running in the background - perhaps if mine was used, it could change to a different network every time the music progresses.Killer 11 wrote:Tombe your midi is too fast when playing with wmedia 6.4 thank god i have Midi player that came with my soundcard and your midi is great but it fits better in credits section than when playing the game i think
Transient, I'm sure you could very eaily do the rhythm guitar part to the thing I made - it basically alternates between an F power chord and an F power chord but with the 1st fret on the A string played instead of the 3rd. That's what I was playing when I wrote it, anyway.
Yeah I know, its not really a TE music submission. Most of my stuff isn't, in fact, I'm just posting stuff as I make it. I don't really work well if I know that I'm writing for a specific purpose. When it comes down to the final list of music, all of my stuff is available to be chosen by the 'senior development team'.Killer 11 wrote:tokkarta your's fits better in "arsenal taste the power" than in "TE" i think
A remix of a rather fast paced song I made a year and a half ago. Hence its 'that' chord structure again.
Say hello to my drum programming skills, and my 'from the bowels of hell' bass skills.
And here it is, though its still incomplete and lacks an intro and outro: DnB2.mp3

/me puts his subwoofer volume to the max...
Cool stuff It loops quite nicely too ^^
I'm wondering what a trance remix of a TTD song would sound like..

This is the product of me recording myself playing for ages then cutting most of it out. Probably not suittable for the game, but quite nice.
