I'll be here... I'm not especially musically gifted though. I can sorta hum tunes and like alter them in my head pretty nice, but I don't really have experience transcribing. I can definetely help out with like, "rendering" the music tho. Essentially, I'm no composer like yourself, but sure I'll help :).

Did't fealt that the bass was to high, but on the other hand the bass of my speekers at my parents house does not have a seperate bass box (or whatever it is called).

And what is the difference from the original? exept the diffrent file format.

The difference is just the synthesizer and the percussion line. The bass... Well... It was too high on my sys at least when it turned out the bass was turned up in WMP.

I'm currently bidding on eBay for an E-Bow, an electronic bow for guitar which lets you infinitely sustain a note and produce hundreds of different sounds. Strange new sounds will be coming your way if and when I win the bid.

It arrived today. Weird guitar-sounding-like-violin/flute-hybrid music coming soon.

Here it is. It's a bit sloppy since I recorded it in one take then worked from that, plus I only actually got the Ebow yesterday and I'm still learning how to use it.

Ebow Song

Tech specs: (a bit like X-ray specs but more techy)

I played an Epiphone Les Paul Custom guitar with the Ebow, running through a chorus pedal to get a lusher sound, a pitchshifter for the high-pitched synthesiser-like bit in the midle, and a compressor to even out the volume a bit (it's possible to get very loud sounds from the Ebow, most of which are not wanted. When I first tried recording with it, most of it was distorted because I'd been playing too loud, and there were quiet bits where you could hardly hear it). It then ran through a Boss pre-amp into a laptop, on which I used Nero Wave Editor to record. Finally, I had the whole lot plugged into an amp, but only for me to use as a monitor so I could hear what I was playing.

The strings and choir in the background was done with midi, then had some reverb added to it in Nero. Nothing particularly fancy.

Hmm...
If I'd post "I totally agree with this" here too, would that be considered spam? :P

Don't you think you'll write another piece of music to prevent that?

And, btw, I thought we had another music/sound - candidate once on a meeting. Did you ever hear back from him ?

I'm going to be quite slack for a while, since I've decided to enter the BBC Young Composer of the Year competition and I have to compose for that. However, I've almost finished a new piece which I'll upload when it's done.
