That is a nice logo, very 'clean'. I especially like where the edge is matched to the contour of the steam. It's a good combination of colours, and they give it a sort of 'country railway' feel that I like.
I do think it would be better without a slogan though. It's a good enough slogan, but I don't think we need one right now. We could always add a slogan to the image later on. I don't know what others think about this though.

Ok - a little variation on the logo - including aircraft and ships.

All art and vehicle stats I authored for TT and derivatives are as of now PUBLIC DOMAIN! Use as you see fit
Just say NO to the TT fan-art sprite licensing madness. Public domain your art as well.

Probably.
Then maybe there should be 4 logos - each for one transport type. One for roads, one for ships, one for trains and one for airplanes.

Can we see the logo without the subtitle and with just the steam?
If I might suggest so, the airplane variant of the logo could be the railroad variant without the steam and with an airplane in place of the arrow (like I sometimes see in local road signs). Dunno how we would do a road vehicle and ship variant of the logo, though.

Trains: steam as it is now
Rv: the arrow
Ships: a navigation buoy (?)
Airplanes: the wind measure (like in my proposition)

The last one on the previous page is very nice, IMO.

I don't really think it's good idea to have four logos. Have you seen a brand that has different logos?
Logo should be as simple as possible. Have a look at the logos of big well-known firms, like nike, adidas, mercedes, amd, .. They are all very simplistic. Usually some geometric objects that don't even make sense.
IMO we should stick to one logo. Most of transport tycoon alike games are really concentrating on train transport and therefore the puffing steam is an excellent symbol. A logo can't tell you everything, it can only hint or it gets too fuzzy and confusing.
If you'd have to choose between train, boat, aircraft, etc to symbolize transport, which one would fit best? I would definitely go for a train symbol.
Anyway, I removed the slogan and changed the direction of steam. I'm not too happy with the color of "Transport" but it will stay like this until I come up with something better.
Let me know what do you think.
ps. How can I attach image so it would show it in my post too? Like uzurpator has done few posts up.

The forum software thinks your image is too large to show directly. Try to keep it below 640x480 and it will show automagically.tuisu wrote:ps. How can I attach image so it would show it in my post too? Like uzurpator has done few posts up.

The logo resembles to a road sign, so it doesn't only refer to trains. The puffing steam may refer to a steamboat for example. The steam itself doesn't tell you that it's coming from a train, it's kind of symbol for all moving vehicles. Also the game name "Transport Empire" itself suggests that the game isn't only focused on trains or planes etc not like other transport games (Railroad tycoon, Locomotion to name a few).
Or can we make up such a symbol which could represent all types of vehicles? That would be magnificent.
I'm personally againt using too many symbols (more than 1-2) on a logo. Logos are not stories, they are symbols. They are more about branding than telling the whole story.
But we'll just have to see what the majority thinks.

Think of how other similar games have done it.
I've attached the Transport Tycoon and Transport Giant logos for comparison and maybe inspiration.

I don't, it's too messy and too crowded, IMO.Hyronymus wrote:I would still prefer the logo with all types of vehicles represented.
