/EDIT

I think it's time to create a logo for Transport Empire. It should of course reflect the game genre: a transport simulation game. If you feel like creating a logo I urge you to bare in mind that the logo could be (very) temporary. If more people take up the challenge we should vote for the best logo.

How big is it suposed to be?

A splashscreen, or something smaller that can be used on the homepage?

-> Yes I know, I have left the project. This is just an anying player post :D

I think both. ;)
But primarily for the website, we won't have anything that can use a splashscreen yet.

As Arathorn said: primarily for the website. As we have nothing coded at all there won't be any splash screens for a while. We can perhaps attach the logo to demo's too, as an icon.

First Beta of my submission.

Comments:
I need IRL pictures of a train, a plane and a ship. I might be able to make some of them myself, but if someone have royatly free images that would help.

This image is 800x600. In a smaller version for the web, the IRL images of vehicles can be omited, since they'll likely to clutter the image to much.

The second text line should probably be omited in smaller images.

Yes, I know there is a spelling error in the second text line in the image. But I dont think it is neccecary to re-export, after all betas should have bugs, shouldn't they? :)

EDIT: I was editing it in 50 % in GIMP, so I didn't realice that it was that big until I had posted it. Probably I'll scale it down to at least 50 persent eaven for big logos. Now it looks rediciolus big.

Feel free to comment.

Not bad at all to be honest. I think you can ask Purno for free-to-use train pictures, no clue who makes pictures of airplanes and boats around here. Could you experiment with the sub-title in a different colour btw?

Why not add some road and rail wrapped around the logo?

Not bad either, Bart but I think the colours are a mismatch. It seems like there's a pile of fog over the logo.

I like Zuu's creation. Maybe cutting the freigter from the rest of it's photograph before pasting it in the logo would make it better.

Transport Gigant/Transport Giant is a Game by Jowood http://www.transportgiant.com
Look a bit on the forums, we even have a section for it: http://www.tt-forums.net/viewforum.php?f=23

So, it's not a good idea for a Logo :D

I don't thik I'll work much more with my logo suggestion. So I am posting the GIMP file, if anyone wants to continue on it.

You don't have to give any credits to me, but I am glad if you do so.
You are free do do whatever you like with the logo as long as it will be used for Transport Empire.

Best Regards
Zuu

Bha .xcf isn't allowed. I am appending .txt to the file name. Be sure to remove the .txt suffix, at least if you use an OS that relly on the suffixes (aka Windows).

I talked to Steve at IRC about TE, and then I told him about an logo idea I had once, which he seamed to like. So I made a sketch by hand, after failing to do one in blender. :D

The whole idea is that you have a container, with Transport Empire printed on it. The container has to be quite realistic looking, else it wont look good.

I don't have the skils in blender or another 3D program to make the logo.

It's a nice idea Zuu. Containers on ships, trains, trucks => OK! But what about planes ? I don't think container-planes exist ?

Planes usually have differently shaped, smaller containers that are designed to fit in the hold. I'm not sure what that has to do with the logo though.
