Does anyone know if microprose is working on a new Transport Tycoon?

What do you think could be added to it to make it better? Here is a list of
things I think should be added Double Decker Buses, Bigger airports which
catch more people, more industries such as nuclear waste form nuclear power
plants to nuclear disposal sites.

Well, what about stations, airports, etc. that catch more people when the number
of destinations grow? In TT Deluxe you won't make much money if your trains in
every town, because all passengers will leave your train as soon as possible,
and that isn't realistic. I think every passenger should get a destination, so
they will stay in your train till they reach that destination.
Other points that should be changed in TT 2 are the corners in the railways, the
mountains (like the mountains in Railroad Tycoon II, only in that game it isn't
possible to dig tunnels), the size of the maps, the sizes of trains, aiplanes
etc. according to each other and according to the towns (a train isn't as long
as ten Jumbo Jets or aslong as a town!). Of course I do also agree with your
points, but why do you only mention Double Decker Buses, and no Double Decker
Trains? Oh, I also think you should first build "electrical wires above the
rails" (how do you call that in English???) before you can use electric trains.

Passengers should definitely get a destination - then it would be worth
bussing them to out-of-town airports and stuff. Goods should be the same -
they should go to particular shops or offices. This would make combined
terminals much more useful because cargo could be bulk transport by train or
ship to a terminal and then distributed by truck or plane to its final
destination.

Also, airports should be able to have extra runways - once you've got a lot
of planes running out of one airport, it ceases to be profitable because
planes spend too long circling to land.

Why not allow trains to travel along a set route instead of having to follow
the most direct route. In my games this just leads to trains going round and
round in circles.

I think the AI could be improved for a bit later in the game. I've noticed
that the computer players always seem to go for some of the top kit
available at the time, but that means that towards the end (like, you've
bought out all the competition so there are new companies starting up ;P)
they'll splash out on a maglev train and a couple of stations and Bang!
they're at their borrowing limit and can't afford to lay any track.

Pointless, in many ways.

I Tend to develop huge networks of track and what i've found effective is to
place a small station at each major junction (so long as the station doesnt
attract goods/passengers) and then route my trains via these junction
stations. Otherwise i also get trains spinning round in circles!

How about being able to lay rails on the road to create streetcar systems,
and add runways to airports so that they can handle more planes.

I'd like subway stations, wich off course you cannot connect to other
means of transport. What about advanced ships... you get a maglev-train
but still are destined to use old, slow ships. I 'd like larger stations
(with more tracks).
But the most important is an ability to shut off the irritating income
sheet that pops every year and just when hou're completing a large
railway.

If your trains are spinning round in circles there is a reason for it.
Trains can cover a huge amount of mileage and cover a great number of
stations if the track system is not too complex, start to introduce three
lanes of track on one system and you have problems. Trains however are by
far the best form of transport overall. I have played many games not using
anything else and you can beat the oposition hands down.

Sugestions for additions, well, game play is actually pretty good, enjoyable
and reasonably sencible. No trains in most towns I have visited are not as
long as the town itself but, there has to be some reasonable graphical
representation.

As for catering with Nuclear waste, is this something we should really be
asking for in a game, maybe some way of not helping the Nuclear industry
thus forcing it into decline might be better.

The one thing I would like to see added (This connects with the 'One
passenger, one destination' idea) is a report telling me the popular
destinations from one town to another, thus helping to make the correct
decitions when building new track, hey BR wouldn't lay down new track
without a survey would they?

Cheers,
Tull.
