[Private] Canadian Pacific

Post by cottonmouth »

Hey all,

I have started to go and create some Canadian Pacific steam locomotions starting with the 4-4-4 Jubilee.

However I have come into a bit of a problem https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B4tEh ... UxkMUFqX3c

Did I miss something when converting it. I used the old MSTS2Loco tutorial that Walter had created.

Thank-you

Are you sure that the textures are also displayed the msts-model?
How look of the pictures? If the locomotive in the pictures already so bright?

I'm not quite sure whether Plasticman has already built this locomotive. (The last package on the side.)

ah I see what I did wrong here... I was hoping that I could just take the .s file out and just deal with it like that... however now I understand after reading your reply that I need to take EVERYTHING out of the file and then convert it.

As to your second question. No my lord. The two that he did are of the a different class. I am making the 4-4-4 Jubilee. I believe he made a different class.

I present to you for your viewing the Canadian Pacific H1E 4-6-4 Hudson

I have rated it at the following stats

Horsepower 10140 *note I feel that this is way over powered and would ask for suggestions on what it should be.
Tons 183
Speed - 90 MPH
Built 1940
Out of Service - Never, Currently the 2860 is still in Operational Service although stored at the West Coast Heritage Park in Squamish BC

Looks very good.

But 10,140 hp ??
For comparison: The H1b have 4,700 hp .....

I am not sure. But I think this locomotive I wanted to build even. :P

See I thought it was way over, I hunted high and low for the horse power of a H1E and couldn't find it. So I tried to convert the tractive effort to horsepower based off speed.

I'll adjust it when I get home tonight.

I plan on doing the H1b as well as a few others this week when I am off.

My plan is to do some older passenger cars as well.

I have a couple more for you guys to see.

I am seriously starting to debate about releasing these... I just need to read up and confirm that I have everything right... or I have another idea in mind. Stay tuned.

Top Engine 4-6-2 Pacific Type. I have rated the engine at 3400 HP, i am finding it hard to figure out the HP from TF so what I have done is taken the first 4 digits and if it seems plausible I have gone with that. weight is 236 tons and build dates are between 1906 - 1961.

Second engine is a 4-6-4 H1B this class is different from the H1E as they are not streamlined. I have rated them the near the same as the H1Es with roughly the same build times. It is obsolete in 2015 as the current one 2816 is currently stored in need of repairs and CP doesn't seem inclined to fix it.

Third engine is the first engine that I started with that I had a few issues with the 4-4-4 Jubilee. Build times are 1936-1961

Current Engines that need to be done

2354 - 4-6-2 Updated, has a different look to the original possibly ran in passenger service i have to do some research.
5916 - 2-10-4 Selkirk Non streamlined engine
5930 - 2-10-4 Selkirk Stream lined
29 4-4-0

I believe that there is a few others that I need to do as well. As in a 4-8-2 Mountain and a 4-8-4 Northern, I believe I saw them but I may not have downloaded them.

Stay tuned.

Okay so I found some extra time to complete the 4-4-0 and the two Selkirk models.

I still only have the 4-6-2 updated model to complete and I am gonna go back and rerate all the HP for the others down lower... these models are closer to what was probably. I went into loco and checked similar hp.

Top model is a 4-4-0
Second model is 2-10-4 Selkirk non streamlined
Third model is 2-10-4 Selkirk streamlined

Both Selkirks are top of speed of 60 mph which will be changed

Looks very good for my eyes. But a quick question: Are the wheels animated?

Good question boss.

No they are not. And I am unable to keep the steam going once when it gets up to speed. As well I seem to have steam coming from the tender.

I know it is not easy to animate the wheels.

I'll send you a file with which your locomotives still steaming. Even if they stand still.

And because of the smoke from the tender ... check the second part. He may have entered no smoke in the vehicle creator.

Hey boss... I am working on passenger cars now and I am having a few issues with the observation cars. When ever they go the other way the whole car flips so that the observation deck is facing towards the engine. How would I fix this?

Thanks in advance

You have to consider two things.
1. The end of this wagon must look forward when converting. (Turn 180 °)
2. In the Verhicle Creator, bit_0 must be set to "No". (See image)

The game turns it around automatically !!

You only made 68 pictures. This is correct if both sides are identical. But in this case I need 136 pictures like a locomotive.
Another thing. Can you please send me a picture set in normal version and a picture set in rotated version?

Sorry, my mistake.

I need a picture set with the end front and a picture set with the end back. )I hope you know what I mean)
And these pictures should already be finished as png.
It is important that you make 136 pictures as a locomotive.
