Trying to learn msts2lomo and importing from sketchup
Hey guys.
Ive been playing Locomotion for many years now, but never really got into much modding. I did some basic converting with msts2lomo, but i wanna do some proper modding for a little fictionary company i want to play with.
My problem is, that i ran into some problems.
First thing:
Im trying to batch my images in photoshop. But i cant get the walter action to process my images. When it has to "delete layer "ebene 1" it stops running. Im guessing its because the layer is called "ebene 1" instead of "layer 1".. Is there any way to bypass this?
Second is. I modelled a few trains in Sketchup. What would be the easiest way do all 136 sprites etc? I thought of making it into an msts .s file, but that means A LOT of texture work and even more sprite work afterwards. And i feel like the msts2lomo converter really ruins a bit of the quality!
Anyone can help me out?

I think you have already written to me by email. I'm sorry that you could not find any solution. But I have written to you that needs it may be due to your method of converting bmp to png. Because with your pictures has sent me everything works fine.alexanderl93 wrote: Im trying to batch my images in photoshop. But i cant get the walter action to process my images. My "batch4Loco" batch files do exactly this.alexanderl93 wrote:What would be the easiest way do all 136 sprites etc?
There is a full explanation of how to use them here:
link -> http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=70640
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask, you may be the first one to use these batch files, besides me.
There wasn't a lot of interest in them, but that's OK

Hello guys, thanks for the replies!
Walter, i just started doing this, so i havent sent you anything before.
But where do i make a mistake?
I followed your guide on your website.

Oh, sorry. Then it was a different person with the same problem.
However, I can not understand that. It remains a mystery to me. Because if I edit the same pictures with my PhotoShop CS everything works fine.

Re: Trying to learn msts2lomo and importing from sketchup
Hello Walter
You are german, right? I think it has to do with the fact that your photoshop is in german then. So your layers will automatically be named "ebene #" when you create a new layer. Mine is in english so the layer will be named "layer #" when i create one. The batch action cant locate the layer cause its looking for "ebene" instead of layer"
At least thats my theory So if i knew how to edit the action to make it look for "layer 1" instead of "ebene 1" i could fix it i think.

Re: Trying to learn msts2lomo and importing from sketchup
My problem is, when i try to load MSTS2Loco, it never loads up because of missing trainlib.ocx comctl32.ocx is not found.
I am also lazy to even bother getting WinXP to just obtain those damned files.

Oh yes, I know what you mean. I had the same problem when I installed Windows 7. I have also tried everything. So I go back to using Windows XP. But apparently you can install an XP Mode from Microsoft. This should then be a virtual operating system. I will still try.

Re: Trying to learn msts2lomo and importing from sketchup
I have a problem. The script of the action is very long and it needed several German commands. Therefore, it is very difficult just to translate. It would be everything completely rewritten. Robin does not want to do that and I have no time for. That would take a few days. Therefore, I will renounce and rather delete the English tutorial from my homepage.
Sorry for the confusion and the problems.

I do not want to install XP. I just want to run MSTS2Lomo on Win7 w/o problems.Walter1940 wrote:Oh yes, I know what you mean. I had the same problem when I installed Windows 7. Re: Trying to learn msts2lomo and importing from sketchup
For Germany it is possible in Windows 7 to install a virtual XP mode. Certainly there is the possibility for the English version. Search on the Microsoft Support Center for "XP Mode in Windows 7". In this mode, all the old programs to run again.tycoonkid9 wrote: I do not want to install XP. I just want to run MSTS2Lomo on Win7 w/o problems.

Read this http://www.microsoft.com/en-US/download ... px?id=8002
With "old programs" I mean programs that do not actually run on Windows 7.
