France region

Post by Geoff »

Hi there,

I read this forum since a long time, and I decided to join you today.
I post this first topic in order to present you one of my project for Locomotion : I would like to make a French region. I have already read many tutorials on how making mods for Locomotion, so let's present the project :
#####
FRANCE
#####
This region will (I except) be choosable from the first menu on scenario editor (with UK, USA and Alps)
All vehicles will be with company colors (I think it would be more interressant than all the MSTS2Loco trains ;) )
Planes will be the same as in the other regions
Boats will be the same as in UK
Trams, buses and trucks will be the same as in the Alps
There will be many new trains (all with company colors ^^ ), I list the trains below :

*Electric locomotives :
_2D2 5500
_2D2 9100
_BB 4600
_BB 8100
_BB 16000
_BB 9200 "Capitole"
_BB 15000
_BB 7200 "v200"
_BB 22200 TTU
_BB 26000 (Sybic)
_BB 36000 (Astride)
_BB 27000 (Prima)
_CC 7100
_CC 40100
_CC 6500
_[Bombardier] Traxx

*Diesel locomotives :
_BB 63000
_BB 67000
(_BB 67200 (looks like a BB 67000, but can be couple with a TGV trainset))
_BB 75000 (Prima Diesel)
_BB 61000 (Mak G1206)
_CC 72000
_Class 66

*Steam locomotives :
_231 A
_230 D
_"Crampton"

*Freight cars :
I think that the british freight cars can be used

*Passengers cars :
_DEV
_UIC "Capitole"
_Corail
_Corail (refurbished with a maximum speed of 200kmph)
_Etat 2-level coach
_VB2N
_V2N
Before the apparition of the DEV cars, I think that I can use the british cars

*High Speed Trains :
I think that I can modifie the TGV in Locomotion to appear in 1981 like the real one in France, why not also make a TGV Atlantique, available in 1990 with a max speed of 300kmph instead of 270kmph, a TGV Duplex with a max speed of 320kmph and 2-level coaches for TGV, and an ICE3M which runs in France ?

*Multiple Units :
_Z2
_Z2N
_AGC

This list is not definitive (because of the limit of 224 vehicles), it can be changed depending on what you want or don't want, what can or can't be useful ...

PS : Sorry for my english, I'm french and it's my first post here ^^

PPS : If you have an idea or a commentary about it, please, send a comment ^^

I will use Blender for the missing 3D models, then I made pictures of the differents views using Blender itself, then I use Wally and NotePad++ and the Vehicle Creator for the XML ^^

Do you also know how to build this new region-file when you are finished with all this ? If not, I can help you by creating this file because I made a few region-files in the past. Good luck on this project.

Locomotion needs projects with an ever shrinking fan-base on these forums... :(

After a quick search, it looks to me like there are a number of French projects either completed or half-finished, so you could perhaps gather up some of those. This is what the search returned for me.

Also, although it may seem obvious, I would decompile a copy of an existing region and use it as a template. Unfortunately, the variable list isn't much help here, but with EDS's help you should be able to do it.

Zakos, But you forget this

With MSTS2loco I have built almost all French vehicles. But not in company colors. This is complete new.
(Which reminds me of the meaning does not make sense. But it is not my wasted time.)

I know your (great) pack Manuel, but I want them in company livery ^^ So yours are not useful for this project ^^

I think that everyone forgot to read that all the content of this pack will be with company color, so I don't use MSTS2Loco trains because these are not in company colors ;)

Edit : I'm currently working on the BB7200

Hmm, what about most locomotives having an obsolete date, i.e.
Electrics:

Nez Casses:
BB7200: 1976 - 2020
BB15000: 1971 - 2015
BB22200: 1976 - 2035
CC6500: 1969 - 2007

Autres:
BB4600: 1929 - 1984

BB8100: 1948 - 2012

BB9200: 1958 - 2015
BB16000: 1958 - 2013

BB26000 'Sybic': 1987 - 2050
BB27000 'Prima': 2001 - xxxx (Passenger and freight variants)
BB36000 'Astride': 1996 - 2050

CC7100: 1952 - 2002

CC40100: 1964 - 1996

2D2 5500: 1926 - 1980
2D2 9100: 1950 - 1987

TRAXX: 1996 - xxxx (160 km/h top speed, diesel and electric)

Diesels:
BB61000: 2002 - 2060

BB63000: 1953 - 2015??

BB67400: 1969 - 2020

BB75000: 2006 - xxxx

CC72000: 1967 - 2020

Class 66: 1998 - XXXX

Automotrice:
AGC (diesel and electric): 2005-XXXX

Z2: 1982 - ????
Z2N: 1988 - ????

Passenger:
Corail: 1975 - XXXX
Corail refurb: 1996 - XXXX
V2N: 1990 - XXXX
VB2n: 1974 - XXXX
DEV: 1938 - 2000
UIC Capitole: 1958 - 1992
Etat 2-level: 1938?? - ????

This might add some realism to the game, just like the North American Packs
Tell me if anything needs to be added (Like steamers).

I see you man. Will there be several company-color variants, like versions based on SNCF-FRET, Beton, and Multiservices (Applies to certain locomotives only)

I also updated the list above ;)
