Help with MSTS2Loco
I feel like I am digging up an old topic here, but here goes:
I have made a 3D model in sketch-up 7, and using the "Train Simulator" Plug-in, I can create a .S file to be used in MSTS. The problem I have is when I run MSTS2Loco and open the .S file, I get "Error 5 - Invalid procedure call or argument", then "Run-time error '5' Invalid procedure call or argument", then the program closes.
I get this error every time I make a model with textures. When I try to open a model in MSTS2Loco without textures, nothing happens. I messed with the distance and Y offset tools thinking the object was just out of view, nope...
I have searched all over the forums and the web using Google, with no luck.
I can make the .XML code fine, so I feel like this is the only thing stopping me from adding new objects to the game.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Help with MSTS2Loco
Although I have no experience with sketch up I have had the same error with MSTS2Loco with models made with TS modeler. My guess would me a surface on your model has either a texture missing or a texture that wasn't converted right. With TSM there is a convertion text made for every conversion and it points to the missing or troubled area. Most times with TSM it is a texture that has too many colors and the make ace conversion fouls the whole works. With TSM the texture file has to be one of the following 16x16, 32x32, 64x64 128x128 256x256 or 512x512 pixels in either bmp or tga file format.
Try decreasing the number of colors in the texture. Also with models I've made with TSM a test of the texture I plan on using helps prevent the problem. I make a cube and texture it and if converts right to a s file I run thru MSTS2Loco, when both work fine I know that I can use the texture.
Again I do not us sketch up so these might not help you but perhaps a TSM user will read this and it'll help them

Short question: Can you open your vehicle with the Shape Viewer?

Re: Help with MSTS2Loco
@Isbc : I have tried making simple shapes like cubes with no success. The texture I am using is a 64x64 black .bmp (I also tried a .TGA). Every time I try to load a .S file into MSTS2Loco, it fails, but with no texture it either works, but is invisible, or does nothing (they both look the same).
@Walter1940 : In Shape Viewer i cannot open .S files with textures I have imported.
I can open .S files that have been painted using sketchup's paint-bucket tool (one solid color).
I know this model is way too detailed for loco, I was just having fun

A lot of sketch up topics at train sim. You might take the time to read them for those guys/gals do some amazing things for MSTS. Also Walter does have a bunch of knowledge with converting MSTS models. I get the same error with TSM but having read the forums about TSM at train sin com most times it a texture problem. It's a great site if you also play MSTS (as I do), but beware when downloading, they do NOT like their models converted to loco without permission.

Re: Help with MSTS2Loco
Exactly that is the problem. You can not use textures of Skechup. The textures you need to recreate it with tgatool and MakeAceWin.glenjimen wrote: @Walter1940 : In Shape Viewer i cannot open .S files with textures I have imported.

On wisim-community.net, there were a Quick Start Guide. But in German and unfortunately now incomplete.
But you can write the user AZUWSK. He creates its models successfully with Sketchup.

Re: Help with MSTS2Loco
OH, there is a special tool that I need to create the textures, I was just using Photo-Shop. Thank you Walter1940, this may solve every thing?Walter1940 wrote:The textures you need to recreate it with tgatool and MakeAceWin.
Another thing that may really help is; could someone could post a texture they know works in MSTS2Loco? If I had an example of what I need to create, it would be much easier to create it!

Re: Help with MSTS2Loco
The texture didn't work, I applied it to a simple cube.
I got Run-time error 6. Overflow.
It does work in shape viewer, meaning the problem is probably somewhere in my 3D modeling process.
