Reliability mod

Post by jt23 »

Hello all haven't been to the forums much and just started getting back in to playing Locomotion and was wondering if there was a mod that would prevent the reliability from going down on train and other vehicles. I seem to remember reading a post where someone had mentioned it but tried searching for it with no luck. It would be A LOT easier not to have to worry about replacing the trains every so often and focus on other parts of the game.

You can get Locotool and edit the XML and have it so they never brake down.

Look there for the no breakdowns mod
Also Autopause is a good mod.
The only thing that is not very successful in the wireless version : Bungee Jumping 8o
Just fold at the dotted line and cut it out with a pair of scissors. If you are under the age of 16 please ask one of your parents or an adult supervisor if she/he can help you.

If you have locotool.exe you can "fix" the individual engine files that you use.

Open the file with locotool and scroll down until you see the reliability line, like this:

<variable name="reliability" size="1">80</variable>

If the number = 0, then the engine never breaks down. If it's any number other than zero, then it does break down.

Change the number to 0, create a new dat file, and put it in the game folder.

Personally, I prefer playing with engines that break down from time to time.

I have a few no breakdown engines, but I also prefer finding out what truly is unreliable and thus having to work out a creative solution to it, where through the use of lash up's or changing motive power to find a combination that lasts a respectable length of service
