i kept finding the old paintjob with that search. no big deal. i was not desperate, there was enough in the one photo to get the bits i needed. i jus t reshaped the side and nose , brightened up the yellow added new via logos off a P42. the rest was guessing (roof and back). it took about 30-60 min total.

i updated the side numbers, but i forgot to renumber the boards on the front.. ooops, i noticed that after i ran it in msts... for lomo i could put my home phone in it and you wont know.... i ran it over rogers pass earlier today in MSTS with 2 Locos, this one and and a koolaide F40 pulling an old silver baggage and 9 Ren cars.

*edit* ps. i killed everyone onboard when i failed to hold at a siding and plowed head-on into a set of SD90MAC's pulling 60+ intermodal doublestacks at combined speed of about 130MPH ... so uhh sue my virtual corpse...

BTW The LRC can Tilt. (Notice the 5th car isn't tilting)

They disabled the tilting later on for some reason which I forget why.

Probably because the F40s can't tilt.

Nah I know it was disabled in both the LRC Locomotives and the cars. But I should be letting some train specialist explain why as trains aren't my speciality, buses are.

Also apparently when the first gen of LRC locomotives came out, apparently they didn't come with a Tilting system. (I know for a fact there were 3 generations of LRC Locomotives and cars) So the LRC Cars would tilt but the locomotive wouldn't. I am not 100% sure on this though.

The LRC engines came in 3 generations. LRC1-LRC3. The LRC-1 was the demo set (only 2 engines built total) that both VIA and Amtrak tested.

VIA only ran LRC2's (20 units also known as MPA-27a's) and LRC3's (10 units also known as MPA-27b's). VIA also bought the demo set of LRC1's from amtrak but VIA never used them (scrapped for parts? who knows? #6941 & #6942 built in 1980, My guess is they wanted the coaches).

the coached all tilted. Initially, the LRCs were plagued with problems. One common problem was that the cars would ‘lock’ in the tilted positioned even after the track had straightened out from a curve. The locomotives were never designed to tilt. the coaches are still in use but the engines have all been retierd. in fact you can buy one if you want. I recently saw a few up for sale to the public.

a bit of trivia: the LRC coach design was updated for use on Amtraks Acela Express

Ah yes, that was the problem, I couldn't remember what it was exactly.

Anyway I don't know what is in the pack but I hope you remember to include this train (pictures taken by me!):

It looks like a Budd RDC-1, I cant tell due to lack of side shots. If you havea side picture it would be handy. Yes this is planned for the relase. The paintjob i have is slightly differant though. I should release this pack. i keep getting sidetracked on other projects.

Well it is either a RDC-1 or a RDC-2 cause out of the total of 3 units VIA Rail owns on Vancouver Island, 2 of them are RDC-1s and one of them is RDC-2 so chances are this is probably a RDC-1 as this is one out of the three units and that gives us a 33% chance of it being a RDC-2 which compaired to a 67% chance, is low.

Will a interior shot help? I got one of those!
Image

EDIT: Confirmed it's a RDC-1, I looked at the VIA Rail Rosters and it said "RDC-1" which I assume means what it says lol
6000-6006 BUDD RDC-9
6100-6148 BUDD RDC-1
6200-6225 BUDD RDC-2
6350-6357 BUDD RDC-3
6401+ BUDD RDC-4
This is a all time roster btw, so it even has retired locomotives. As this units number is 6148, that means it is also the last RDC-1 built for VIA Rail (it's not second hand as otherwise it would say so)

EDIT 2: I just noticed for everything except the RDC-9, its second number denotes what model of RDC it is.

hrmm it looks like LRC cars before the vista observation? note the yellow stripe.

maybe Walter ment pre-VIA..

I am not planning to release the named VIA train but it looks like all the bits are will be released to build your own. also the VIA set is not locked together. there are just to many options to do that. VIA runs all the crap it owns mixed together all the time....

i'll get back on this project soon guys, i promise.

If you do not plan to do this train, we would be able to do it. However, I would like to do nothing what you plan.

as i said,

I have all the correct parts already released or in this pack, to build the "ocean limited" (or "the ocean" under the via name) dating back to when it was dieselized under the Canadain National RR.

As i recall from that email we have, The "Ocean Limited" is a trademarked name held by Canadian National and they said We can't use the CN trademarked names. I am still not sure what You have in mind.

Feel free to build whatever you want though.

Stupid idea, cant you just name it a bit differently? Just like some other games for example using TVG instead of TGV?

why name it at all? all amtrak trains are named, yet i didnt release any named ones (other then the acela express and the LRC). i just gave you all the parts to make whatever one you want. thats the whole point of the 2 packs. you get whatever equipment they own and build the train you want. there would be dozens of full "trains" in the set and you would run out of your vehical limit.

Yes, this is like the correspondence with Canadian Pacific because of the Royal Canadian Pacific (Streamliner).
They have also done such annoyance.

I Found I nice little site on the VIA RDC

I am going to try and get this out ASAP I have just had it sitting on MY PC for a long time. I have not even Beta tested it so it might be buggy, I'll release updates as bugs are found. The RDC's and PA's might not make this pack (I can't find them on My laptop and my Desktops are dead ATM). I am making the install as I Type this out.
