Post by WooDooUK »

Hi,

i havent had chance to look into Locomotion modding yet but my first question is this.

where/how are the models for the various vehicles stored? and is the any special techniques to importing/exporting them?

There aren't any 'models' as its not a 3d application. It uses sprites, saved inside the .dat files. Thats the simple explaination. I'm new myself, you'd be wise to look around in this forum, theres quite a bit of info about Locomotion modding.

yeha i checked them out its lots and lots of sprites :D i think i will stick to moddin the .XML files for the time being i just cant thinking that it would have been easier to model them rather than use sprites

but then that would require recording the engine

You can model them, then render the model for the sprites? I believe that's how the graphics for RCT were created, for the most part.

I guess I could do. I won't actually get the game until tomorrow at the earliest (it's coming in the post).
