ttd for windows Xp

i came across my disc for ttd which has been lost for years tryed installing it but wouldnt work. can i have a step by step guide on how to install it and getting working i have tryed dowloading allsorts of different versions online but none of them will work. any help will be muchly appreciated thanks in advance

Except that you can't play TTD that way. If you want something that is mostly like TTD, that works, but if you want exactly-like-TTD-except-that-it-works-on-XP, you have to use TTDPatch. Download it, drop it into your TTD folder, and run ttdpatchw.exe.
