im trying to build a station in a certain city but it says the local authority refuses it or something like that

anyway is there a way around this or is there something in ttdpatch that disables it or something?

Build lots of trees and the authorities will like it... Using the ttdpatch's plantmanytrees switch, this is a lot easier

Bribe the authority, if you have the money for it.

You could also build a bunch of trees.

err .yes ... there are two ways ... one, the easiest is to put tree in one suqare (one corner of the city), and then put tree (with CTRL now) on the other side of town (other square), then all squares in rectangle that you selected by those two trees will be filled by trees

I dont think funding raises your rating..
In a fit of madness, extravagance, eccentricity and sheer boredom, I demolished an entire small town, built them a road network and funded new buildings, (around 20 times), yet my rating reamined appalling even thought they use dmy millions of dollars (cheap aint it?)

If i just need to clear something I have a different approach than when i want to build a station. One way i get around the local authority and my appaling rating is to maintain a 75 percent share in one of my competitors. I then 'manage' them and destroy what needs to be destroyed.

If i really want a new station and local authority is adamant despite trees, I switch to managing the competitor, build the station, and then buy the other 25%.

What i am interested in is why i get such a rating in the first place. The passagers are blissfully happy, the station ratings are outstanding... perhaps building large airports and stations too close to down does this.

If you have other stations, like bus stops, already in the town, you could increase the frequency of bus services a lot? Doesn't this raise your rating in the town by raising your rating at the stations?
