Yes, very interesting. Lower plank??? Oh... It's too hard to say, I use SE k750i without problem, game now supported middle class mobile phones with colour display... Technical characteristics for run game I don't know... I promise, I send this question to developers...

Thanks for passing on this news (even if it's old to some, it's new news to me).

Yeah, that´s the legal side of things. My question aimed at a more technical aspect.

(Anyway, I presume it got totally re-implemented from scratch but I could be wrong.)

It would probably have had to have been, unless he did a straight up port to Java and then removed all the plane ships and road vehicles code.

The source can be available after release... Cca 3 months after release, on my opinion... On the todo list is: multiplayer game over BT, new scenarions over WAP, submiting high score to web, support foreign graphics to game as in the patch (no same code for this) etc...

After all we know that the name Transport Tycoon is owned by Atari now :)

I hope they the moveing is smoother then in the gif animation ...

Train Tycoon Engine is write from beginning in J2ME (It is very limited platform, so there can't be some features of original TT). There was no possibility to use existing code of OpenTTD or another project.

I'm not planning to released source code of TNT Engine (how I called Train Tycoon Engine).

Currently is game designed mainly for Nokia Series 60 phones. Best experience with final game released you will have with Nokia S60, SE K700, SE D750 or another very fast mobile phone.

I'm sorry for my bad english.

Hi 3wE

Nice to get a direct contact. I can understand that the Engine doesn't get OpenSource. If you have more informations for us simple post here and thanks for the requirements...

Game will run on most of mobile phones. I wrote that current version (it's only developer version) runs on Nokia Series 60, that I'm using to test the game.

@ 3wE:

So you didn't use any line from the original Transport Tycoon source code from Chris Sawyer?
Have you been delivered insight into the original TT code?
Has Chris Sawyer been involved with the development?
How many people are working on Train tycoon?
Has Redboss Games been sold the rights of Transport Tycoon?
Did you have to take copyright issues into consideration at all?
Have you been in touch with Chris Sawyer or Simon Foster?
Can you say how much Train Tycoon will cost?

I have to apologize for the number of questions, but they really have been bothering me... :)

1.) No, I didn't use any line of original TT source. I think TT is written in C and my engine is pure J2ME (mobile java), so there is no possibility to use original sources.

2.) No, I didn't see any line of original TT code. I wrote my own code to solve every part of Engine. My code is optimized very well to be the fastest possible and use only necessary heap (operation memory). There is a lot of differences between computer and mobile phone.

3.) No, Chris Sawyer only give Redboss permission to use original TT graphics.

4.) The game is developed only by me. There was a designer, who adapt some parts of original graphics for small screen, but I do everything from entire source code, to adapt game system, controls and other aspects of the game for mobile phones.

5.) I'm from Czech Republic so English is little difficulty for me and I'm afraid I maybe don't understand this question well. Redboss haven't rights to Transport Tycoon. Transport Tycoon is licenced by Atari and Redboss can't contract with Atari, so game name is Train Tycoon.

6.) I think every copyright issue is solved. Game name was changed and we have permission from sawyer to use original graphics.

7.) Redboss is in touch with Chris Sawyer.

8.) I think Train Tycoon will be sold like another mobile game, so price will be same, but it's depent on country and on local publisher.

Sorry for my bad english. If you don't understand something please write me it and I do maximum to give best answer I can.

Actually, TT and TTD was written in x86 assembler... right?

I've also read somewhere, I think it's CS's official site, that RCT was written in x86 too, but used C for the User Interface and so on.

So is this the same for TTD? Or is it written totally in x86?
