There is no translation program.
Owen has the strings that have to be translated in english.
From that you translate the strings into your language.
Owen will then put those translated strings into the program, so you can choose the program to "talk" in your own language.

As Rob says, there isn't a translation program as such. Download the attached file (English-4.3.txt) and open it in Notepad (Windows 2000 or XP only), or WordPad. Then, simply go through the file and translate all of the text within quotation marks - ie:

MENU_FILE, "&File"

might become

MENU_FILE, "&Ficher"

in French.

Don't worry about the & symbols, these refer to the "access keys" you can use to access the menus or options via the keyboard (eg, pressing Alt+F to get the File menu).

If you're interested in this, please let me know, as otherwise I do intend to release TTDAlter 4.3 very soon... I have it ready to go, just need to, well, release it. :)

Owen, if you need any updates on the Italian translation, please email me. I'm really busy with real lifeā„¢ and I stopped playing TTD, but I'll always be glad to help the community. ;)

I am completely stupid in this kind of thing (HTML) which one do I need to translate?

It's this file you need. The file isn't HTML, it's a text file. What you need to translate is everything in quotation marks - the MENU_FILE, etc, bits just identify the string.

Also, you may notice some & signs here and there. These refer to the ALT key combinations you can press to activate them in the menus, etc. Don't worry if you don't include them in your new translation.

Good luck, and thanks! :) If you have any trouble, let me know!

Congratulations, you've posted in a topic thats been dead for 2 years, 8 months! I very much doubt you'll get a translation. Check if the topic is active (a post within the last month) before you post next time.

I'm pretty sure Orudge can't. You, icegate, can, and I expect Orudge would put it into his next release.

If somebody wants to submit a translation, feel free (I'll probably have to dig up and provide all the material that needs translating). However, I can't personally translate anything into Romanian, as DaleStan says.
