Here is another scenario for you to enjoy...............The Sand Pit.
There is a readme.txt with further details, so please read it before downloading the map. There are no competitors, and the start date is 1955.
Screenshots are included.
Enjoy!!!

Re: [REL]....The Sand Pit
My first attempt at trying someone else's scenario, and as you suggested trying one of yours in my 'help' thread Greyfox I figured I'd give this one a go.
Not sure that I chose the quickest route to get the goods delivered (reading up on making villages grow into cities quickly might've helped, but sometimes not knowing is half the fun) as I didn't deliver my first goods until October '66 but managed to complete the task 7 years later. I don't have autopause, earth slopes disappeared when I was trying to sort the 'no breakdown' mod and I didn't notice til I was underway with this scenario so did without it, and don't have the long station patch either.
I thought it was a good scenario, allowing for some long routes and the groups of industries to expand the stations with demand - though that's something I need to practise on as mine look a bit of a mess after a while. You were pretty kind with the lay of the land, not too much undulation over any distance, which is how I like it.
I tool a few screenshots (hope it's OK posting them opened instead of as a link). Feel free to shout at me if I've done anything wrong in either posting, or what you can see of in the game!

- Completion shot at the oil wells just as I'd realised one well didn't reach both stations. Oops.

- Bit of a trek across the map from lumber to paper to here and then on to a nearby city but worth it in the end.

- The factory had a steady flow of solely chemicals but was the main source for goods.

Re: [REL]....The Sand Pit
@addick:
Thank you for trying one of my scenarios. With reference to shouting, you won't get any from me. It's something that's frowned upon in the forums.
From looking at your screenshots, it appears that you have used the available resources quite well to achieve the goal. Of course, you can always continue with the game to make a nice looking network. In the future, you may wish to open up your own screenshots topic, but that's up to you. As for the earth slopes, I assume you placed the .dat file in your ObjData folder and selected the slopes in Scenario Editor.
Towns & villages should expand with early use of trams & busses. It just takes awhile for the town to accept the goods that you need to deliver. Sometimes I place a cargo road terminus somewhere near the town centre, then every so often I check to see if it receives anything. (normally it is mail first, then food, at least most of the time). Then you are ready to build train lines from a distribution point to deliver the goods that are required. A train line carrying passengers between towns can also improve growth.
As for the land layout, Try "The Cliffs", you may have different opinion (lol), it was meant to be a little more difficult. Good luck with that one. I'm not sure what you know and what you don't know, so ignore the points that are irrelevant to you. Anyhow, glad you enjoyed this scenario, keep it up.
Regards.
