(Rel) The Hill Country - by Greyfox.
Over the last few days I've been working on this scenario. It is basic, with default vehicles and industries. I hope to release a modded version soon.
A Readme.txt is enclosed, please read it for further details. Two pics also supplied.
Cheers...have fun.
Edit: Might be an idea to enclose the scenario as well

Re: (Rel) The Hill Country - by Greyfox.
It's improved since you have sended my the very first version of the map, I'm still working my way to the top on this scenario but because of my lack of spare-time it doesn't go very quick. I have edited nothing on the map in the ways of landscape or industies, I only changed the vehicles to Dutch vehicles, my own edited stations and of course (as with every scenario I play) I use the Long Station Patch...
Here's my first screenshot:
Like Greyfox suggested I started with coal. More screenshots will follow...
Nice work so far mate !

Thanks EDS. It's a start. As I stated in the Readme.txt, I will release a modded version soon. Hopefully no more crashes. Love the Dutch locos.
Cheers and happy shunting.

Re: (Rel) The Hill Country - by Greyfox.
As stated before, here is a modded version of "The Hill Country". There are no competitors, and only small changes to the map have been made.
Screenshots are as in the un-modded version. However, there is another Readme.txt.
The goal is to deliver 70,000 crates of goods in 30 years.
Please refer to the Readme.txt for further details before downloading and commencing the game.
Happy shunting!!

Re: (Rel) The Hill Country - by Greyfox.
Been playing around a little bit today, I'm now halfway the goal...Here are some screenshots:
The coalmine-Station is now being served by three trains...
The Tinley-area, where the Powercentral is, on the left you see the coal-recieving station. On the right a passenger-station is build. The town itself has a small bus-service.
The oilwells are also served by three trains, and oil is delivered at the refinery...
...here. The station is not ready yet, but production has started.
The Cornston passenger-station, at the moment being served by two trains but I want to expand this area with a subway and more tracks...
That's the final screenshot for now. Like I said I'm halfway the challenge (make 1.500.000 profit from vehicles per month in 25 years), I still have 16 years left to reach the goal...To be continued !
Regards,
Erik
Edit:
Three hours later I made it to the goal...
Because I made a lot of money, I was able to expand a little bit and I started to fund my own industry. I first funded a windmill so I could deliver grain to it, then a food-factory to deliver livestock (in the end this was stupid , because I could have just fund just the food-factory, That would have been a lot cheaper ). Just before I finished my goal I decided to fund a new oilwell close to the other ones. Here are the screenshots:
I first funded this windmill where grain is delivered from the farm and then food is delivered in the nearby town.
A few miles ahead I funded this food-factroy, right between the two livestock farms. The food is also delivered in a town a little further away...so this means greater distance + more profit !
The oilwell on the bottom of the screenshot is funded by me and right after it was build I made it to the goal.
I made it in 14 years...so that's 11 years left ! I think that's rather good, and the first scenario-goal I finished in months. As you can see I use (apart from a few German wagons) only Dutch trains and busses. Ow yeah...The trucks are US trucks, because the Volvo trucks weren't invented yet so I had to improvise here
Thnxsss for another nice scenario Greyfox !!

Re: (Rel) The Hill Country - by Greyfox.
Excellent infrastructure, very nice screenshots EDS. I hope that others would submit their screenshots too. I think you've shown us how it should be done (although I don't agree with adding more industries to reach the goal). I tried this "as is", and I managed to finish the scenario with a couple of years to spare. Still, a fine effort by you.
Well done!!

Re: (Rel) The Hill Country - by Greyfox.
This is done as is...The industries are paid with the money I earned with the hauling of cargo. I did not build them in the scenario-editor. But hey...You play it your way, and I play it my wayGreyfox wrote:Although I don't agree with adding more industries to reach the goal.
By the way, I have a nice scenario coming up for you and will send it to you via the e-mail...

Erik

@ EDS: I realised you built them "in game". I certainly understand that you can play it anyway you like. I meant no offence As I said, looks good, keep it up.

The grass looks greener in the screenshots. Where can I get it?
Re: (Rel) The Hill Country - by Greyfox.
The greener grass is something Seelenquell made. His website is down now so I'm not sure if you can get it anymore.AxelP14 wrote:The grass looks greener in the screenshots. Where can I get it?

@AxelP14 ,
I'm not sure if that grass can be found somewhere else (I took them from Seelenquell's website a few years back), but if you are looking for a nice alternative here's a nice download as well. Those are new groundtypes (can be build in the editor only), and you can find hem on the German Locomotion community...
