hey I rounded out the climb after the curve some more and thought of a great idea for the goal of this map, it will be a surprise of course, also added some more eastereggs, Off to code some stuff, but not without a one of these

That looks very exciting! I wish you luck with it. Also, the gradient isn't going to be much of a problem, since the coal mines have been placed on top of the mountains, empty trains won't have any issues climbing.

love the idea and the work your doing. but that climb is scary, knowing lomo empty or loaded they have 50/50 chance of stalling, had that problem on some areas of teh map i had to fix. I would beta test the climb like crazy with short and long trains, to avoid people yelling at you about it. But keep up the good work :D

Looking at the amount of coaland iron mines you gona need a lot of trains to move out all produced coal and ore, i think you dont need that many mines. There is allso not much space left at altoona steelmill to handel all the traffic. The climb can be fun i just hope trains can maintain some speed, you have to make enough space between the steps.
carry on....

I deleted most of the iron ore mines, actually all of them, I am going to make some custom buildings to represent why the curve was built, such as east-west goods & Coal traffic, and the engine shops will require steel and people

If you take out all of the iron ore mines, how do you get steel?

BTW, the climb looks like fun. DP anyone?

I think you have to use wrapper to modify the steel mill.(Correct me if i am wrong.)
I tried to edit the steel mill and i wound up having coal turned into paper and goods.

Loco Man wrote:I watched an Extreme Trains episode about that place. Large rail line owned by Norfolk Southern, High amounts of coal pass through the area. I even made a scenario based on that, but the only accurate thing about it was the H-Curve.
yeah! i've seen that episode too!
I think they said it was like the capital city of trains or something...
or that was somewhere else
oh well :)

EDIT:
Is it possible to use locomotion scenarios in OTTD?

Not a chance mate. You have to make it separately for each program.
