Europe 1960

Post by shockiii »

Here's my scenario. I used mapgen for the landscape. It's quite flat, cause i wanted something more realistic with this scale. However, there are lots of cities, but only 5 with more than 200 inhabitants.

Name: Europe (surprised ?)
Goal: deliver 5 000 000 passengers
Starting Year: 1960 (surprise again !)
Competitors: 5

Hope you'll like it, maybe it's a bit overloaded, or too hard but I can do some changes
Give me some inputs.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Budapest
Budapest became a single city occupying both banks of the river Danube with the amalgamation in 1873 of right-bank Buda (Ofen in German) and Óbuda (Old Buda or Alt-Ofen) together with Pest on the left (east) bank.
1873 ... do u want me to build the Berlin wall ?

Sorry for her :D

If you want a specific area in europe, just ask it. I have made a nice grayscale map of Europe very large (4600 x 2800 px).

Now I'm on a London-Paris map, with a large part of south UK and North-West of France.

I once wanted to create an Iceland map but I could not find that good material. Do you come from Iceland? This year I go to Reykjavik. However, if you sent me a few cards I could do something.

Yeah, I tried to put Brussel on it but not enough place. I had to choose between Rotterdam and Brussel ... I chose Rotterdam for the port ;)

Very nice map.
But you should really rotate the image by 45 degrees before you generated the landscape, so that north of the map actually points to north in the game.
As a bonus you would get less atlantic ocean and more of russia/africa on the map.
One disadvatage is of course that Iceland may have to go..

Hmmm..... what about adding Tromsø or some other north-norwegian town? Bodø? Narvik? Kirkenes?

Agreed.

Bergen also would have been nice.

That said, I downloaded it, and I'll try it out tonight. :)
