No Snow?

Now this is probably the stupidest question ever asked on here but how do i get snow to appear on my games. I have tried various climates but still get no snow on my custom scenarios. Is there a land height limit that snow comes in at or something. If so i could just set the land height to above the minimum.

Thanks and apologies for the daft question.

PS I did try the search but could not find this answered.

The land must be at a certain height to get snow in the game...Also you must choose the alpine climate or the american climate (with the snow). That always worked for me...

I have found that the British climate has the lowest snow level- but I might be being delusional.
